As the ducky-voiced Becca from the 1979 TV movie "The Incredible Journey of Doctor Meg Laurel". Credited as Kathi Soucie here. Full Movie Here: tubitv.com/mov...
I found her high school yearbook photo. It has her as a senior in 1971 of Valley Forge High School. She was going by Kathy Soucie at the time. It's definitely her. Because in this video she still looked like how she did in high school. The school is in Parma Heights which is a suburb of Cleveland(where she was born). And she was part of the drama club in high school.
Wow… a very young Kath Soucie in a late 70’s movie, little did she know that she would become a beloved voice actress in the future. Also her acting is quite good in this movie honestly.
I've been looking everywhere for this film since this was Kath's first live action film. She looks so different back then. I was shocked, she looks so unrecognizable! I've seen other pics of her voice acting career. :o But she's still got her signature voice. ;) She sounds so young back then. My fav parts are 5:12 and 5:31. Thank you for the vid.
@@jwelch5742 I guess that means the casting personnel on live-action programs were too obsessed with how she looked and that is why she gravitated towards Hanna-Barbera and Disney.
@@smithandsuperdeadeyeofthew823 No, she is actually 70. Don't dismiss the evidence: For one thing, there is her High School yearbook photo, and in this footage, she CLEARLY looks to be in her early 20's. Very doubtful she was ever fed very dangerous and potentially illegal growth hormones. Not to mention NO director or studio would EVER greenlight a story in a movie or TV Show about a prepubescent child getting pregnant and giving birth. No way to refute ANY of this information I just mentioned. Katherine Elaine Soucie is 70. Case closed.
@@elsakristina2689It most certainly is, cause you're not constrained by your looks, age or ethnicity, you can literally play any role you want and not having to worry about any of that stuff. Which is why I'm pursuing a career in voice acting not just because of those factors but I love animation and the people who specialize in voice over are just the nicest, and most talented people on the planet and great fun to work with. More so than on camera people.
Justin Felbinger, the voice actor for Sprig in Amphibia, mentioned how he once did on-camera acting and didn’t like it, but once he got into voice over he was able find his niche. When he said that, it reminded me of Kath.
I can kinda hear that similarity. But i watched Carrie 2 days ago and it was 1976(2-3 years prior to this film) and i guess it’s similar. But Sissy is from texas and she doesn’t regularly talk like she did in carrie. She has a southern accent.
@@looneysprig January 20 has since been debunked. Public Records all indicate that she was born on November 18, 1953, which adds up a lot more considering her timeline. She was definitely not born on February 20, 1967 like most of the Internet thinks she was. Some airhead started that rumor years ago and many websites just fell for it without doing any actual fact-checking.
@@kaymendelson204 I thought the January 20, 1953 date made the most sense because of how she graduated school in 1971, and how she might’ve graduated in 1972 if she was born in November, but obviously I don’t know how the school system worked back then. I know a few kids from my grade (12th) that turned 17 a bit a after the school year started, like one one my friends was born in either November or December 2005 and the school year started in August 2022, and she was 16 when she started her senior year. So, I think that might’ve been the same case for Kath?
I'm pretty sure public records show that she was born in November 18, 1953. Kath E Soucie is a pretty rare name in the US, and the person who best matched her information was born in November 18, 1953. Some websites do show the correct date but for some reason most websites, even IMDb, use the fake one. I think IMDb is pretty lax on their verification standards considering they think a 11 year old played a pregnant woman. But when I tried changing it to the correct date on various Fandom wikis, people were adamant on blindly trusting IMDb's fake bizaare birthdate instead of considering the public records I used. Doesn't make any sense.
I think I've seen you on some Wiki sites. Is your username SpongeLink of Hyrule there? Yeah some people tend to not use their brains and blindly take pretty much anything they read on the internet as gospel. In the comments section on Soucie's page on the Dexter wiki, I provided them a link to this video and explained why the 1967 year is likely not the accurate one. If the admins there still try to insist it's the correct one since it's what a lot of sites have listed, then I don't know what to tell them. I looked at the history and I saw someone say "according to IMDB" and such and such. Which is ironic because IMDB is user generated just like Wiki is and lately it had been switching back and forth between 1953 and 1967.
And, y'all are right saying she was older than than 1967. I wanted to post it. She does look like she was in her mid to late 20s here. I assume 1953 is correct.
I was watching and shaking my head being happy i dont have to do that. But even if i were an obstrtrician i’d still hate the breach or cesarean option. The birthing process scares me. Lol. Im glad im a dude and also glad i don’t have to perform the procedures.
As long as IMDB has been around, you'd think by now people would know that anyone can change a DOB there. I could change it 1940 something if I wanted it. Plus actors and actresses are known to change their DOB to appear to casting agents. A striking example would be Natalie Schafer who played the millionaire's wife on Gilligan's Island. Her true age wasn't revealed until she passed away and it turned out she was actually at least a decade older than her on screen husband.
@@KCJ506 I know someone who used to work for the industry and most of his pages say he was born in 1972, when he was actually born in 1969. Someone asked him about that, and he said that once you join the industry, they can make you lie about being much younger since being young sells.
@@Tyler3967 Pokemon actress Rachael Lillis who recently passed away had her birth date as 1978 for a while until her death a week ago where even IMDB corrected her birth year as 1969 but July 8 is still her birthday.
Yeah pretty sure Kath Soucie was born in 1953. I mean come on! February 20, 1967!?! That's Kurt Cobain's birthday! (And it's funny cause Kath Soucie looks like Courtney Love who was married to Kurt). I mean if she was born in 1967 then that would make her 11 in this film and who the hell would cast an 11 year old girl as a pregnant woman!?! That's just weird. Then again it's just acting and some girls hit puberty early sometimes around the age of 11 (especially around the time this film came out). I knew a girl back in the 2nd grade who looked way older and she was taller than the other kids maybe 5 foot 5. But at the end of the day, I digress. It also makes her role as Sally Acorn in the Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM animated series more funnier since Jaleel White who voiced Sonic was 14 and Kath who voiced Sally was well obviously middle aged. And the funnier part is that Sonic and Sally were in a relationship together. Imagine casting a young black kid and a middle aged white woman as characters in a romantic relationship together. Lol sorry I'm being carried away. Life is weird and things come expected or rather unexpected to say the least.
She is definitely not 11 and no one would cast a kid to play a pregnant woman. Some guy or girl just took an educated guess 20 years ago and wrote 1967 as Kath's year of birth on Wikipedia.
Hilarious comment and i learned that steve urkel voiced sonic the hedgehog. And Kathy was his lover but he was 14. Haha! Eh, she could be my lover back then. Lol. But the part where you say it’d be weird to cast an 11 year old gorl to play a pregnant made me laugh! Lol. That definitely would be weird. Haha!
She looks and sounds younger than she is. Even at 70, I saw pics of her from 2-3 years ago and she looks like she’s in her 50’s maybe late 40’s. Maybe she’s a vampire. Lol
I showed this to my dad a couple weeks ago to see if he’d recognise her voice. At first he thought it was Sissy Spacek but when I reminded him about the characters in cartoons I watched growing up and told him this was Kath he put two and together, lol
He thought it was sissy spacek? Sissy was in carrie in 1976. It was close enough to this to see they were different. Sissy and Kathy are both redheads, but Kathy has more blonde hair. Also, sissy has a smaller, pointier nose. Kathy and Sissy could be sisters but don’t really look very similar. But both are beautiful.
And I thought Salma Hayek first being a raunchy vampire in From Dusk Till Dawn and later voicing kitty soft paws was the most hilarious fact. But Kath Soucie being in this movie before becoming Fifi La Fume.
Yeah, Kath was definitely born in 1953. Although it could be possible that she was born in the late 50’s or very early 60’s since she looks younger than 70 but I’ve seen some photos of her when was she very young and the time of photo taken is proof that 1953 is her real birth year.
Everybody ages differently, with some looking younger than others, but it’s usually dependent on genetics, environment, and how well they take care of themselves.
@@kaymendelson204 That’s 100% true and people like Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez, and Keanu Reeves are great examples. Even without makeup, both Gwen and J.Lo look like they have not age.
I agree. If she was born February 20, 1967, that would have meant she was about 11 when this movie was made, and she looks more like a woman in her mid 20s than an 11 year old. November 18, 1953 makes way more sense.
@@whitetspider82whitetspider78 I think most of the Internet has got the 02/20/1967 birthday all wrong. I’ve seen sites that say 11/18/1953, which makes way more sense given how old she looks in this movie.
@@ShyGuy83 1967 was just a guess by some vo fanboy with too much time on his hands. I remembered they wrote Jennifer Hale was born in 1972, Dee Bradley Baker was born in 1967, B.J. Ward in 1941. Lies, lies, lies.
Hello Kay, is there any way you can put up all the film, even if its in parts, I am in the England, they never play this movie and no DVD is available, it would be amazing if you could upload it
@@kaymendelson204 Thank you for replying to me, could you please break it up into parts, or set to upload and just leave it, it would be so good to see this again, i have not seen this since i was a child
@@logangallagher89 Even one of the users on here claimed he talked to EG Daily from Rugrats and she told him that 1967 is definitely not Kath Soucie's birth year. That's all complete misinformation.
@Kay Mendelson I'm not sure if the link with her yearbook photo went through. Can I send it to you by email? RU-vid tends to ghost comments that have links in them.
