Kathakali - Prahalada Charitham 

Prahalada was the young son of Kadayu and the evil Asura king, Hiranyakashipu.
He is believed to have been unwavering in his faith and devotion to Lord Vishnu, Narayana, from Sage Narada while he was still in the womb of his mother. Despite trials and tribulations and the tyranny of his father who had named himself the God of the Universe, Prahalada refused to budge from his worship of Vishnu.
Hiranyakashipu was the recipient of a boon that granted him near immortality. None born of a living womb, human or animal, could kill him either during day or night, indoors or outdoors or in the air or water, with weapons made by Humankind.
The king sent his son to Sage Shukracharya, the Guru of the Asuras to convince the child to worship his father as God. Despite every attempt on his life and safety, Prahalada's faith remained unshaken and his lips would only chant “Narayana ''.
The enraged king challenged the young boy and asked him?
“Where is your Narayana? Does he live in this pillar?” The mighty king breaks open the pillar and the fearsome half man half lion figure of Vishnu manifests in the form of Narasimha.
Placing him on his knees, Narasimha tears open Hiranya's chest and kills him.
Blessing Prahalada and anointing him the new king, Vishnu returns, restoring order in the world.
