in this song the guy got back his eye sight he is no longer blind... he was blind and helped by someone and here in this temple he met his ex gf / love who was already forced to marry someone else so she could not reveal herself at the beginning
The story goes as follows.. Blind hero a devoted singer and heroine a classical dancer falls in love. Girl's family getting her married to a rich land lord.. Later, after the eye replacement hero gets vision and becomes successful singer. He can recognize her only by her voice so he couldn't find her.. This is the climax song, both of them are back to their village ffor an holy event. She comes with her landlord husband. Once he started singing the song, she without realising the surroundings started reacting to his music then realised and came to sense and stopped. he realized that she is also there. The song goes on like this.. asking her to show herself since he has vision now in poetry lyrics and tragedy at the end "both die"
Little sad there were no subs to this. But to provide the context if you are growing up in Tamik Nadu as teen ager regardless of the time , its impossible not to feel these songs.. its quintessential drowning pain of love that cannot meet its fruition. Works for mutual and non mutual feelings, universal in every sense.
Songs are exceptional in this movie but the movie is slow, melodramatic and boring TBH. I wouldn't recommend to watch this movie, it did not age well. Rather I would suggest 'Antha 7 naathkal' (Those 7 days) which has similar storyline like this and became a blockbuster & dubbed in several Indian languages.

The blind hero got eye operation done , so he could see everyone but as he had never seen that girl's face, he wanted to find her which he could recognize her only through the anklets sound and if she speaks. The hero was actually searching her after his eye operation but could not find her becoz she got married to the landlord & gone away from that village.

This is a beautiful song ( so are all the other songs in this movie ). They actually cut the scene in the song ( they were seated and suddenly he is singing and she's dancing in the rain ). He pleads ( in the song) with her to show herself and she finally decides to do so and comes down from where she is seated next to her husband.
Guys i have told this already. I will tell you again. India is a country with young demography. More than 60 percent of Indian population is less than 40 years old. No one have watched these old movies or have any connect with them. If your channel has to be relevant react to the movies which has come after 2000.
According to your theory, they should review Porn- not movies because India is among the top 3 countries in the world that watch most porn. Btw, that song was requested by a channel member. Plus, they are suckers for old movies, good movies, good music & culturally significant stuff. I observed that you guys are mostly reacting only on Tamil and Hindi songs and ignoring Telugu songs and movies. Felt really bad about this. There are so many wonderful songs in Telugu language which you should definitely check out. Just try listening to the same song which was shooted/dubbed in two or more South Indian languages and check which one you love to hear again. Then you will get to know the beauty of Telugu language
