Alot of the sound effects are the cocking of firearms, shells being loaded into tubes, revolvers being spun and closed, insertion of individual bullets into a magazine.. etc.

i was making exact same point, this type of music split off from mainstream dnb few years ago, only found on certain stations. now seems it has come back to relate to dubstep but this is the uncle not the nephew.
I urgently needed to go to the toilet but i wanted to listen untill the end so it made me wiggle left to right tho.. ah well i have a washing machine..
wikipedia . com - "Darkstep is a subgenre of drum and bass that fuses elements of darkcore with uptempo breakbeats and ambient noises (similar to those characteristic of neurofunk)."
about the research you will also find every genre that has been named here originates from BREAKBEATS, this breakbeats is the foundation of almost all genres and drum and bass also originates from breakbeats, so everybody just shutup about darkstep or neurofunk or drumstep because AT THE END OF THE DAY it's all a form of DRUM & BASS = BREAKBEAT
you are right, this is not dubstep, i meant this style split off from dnb. the confusion has occurred beause omega said this was not neurofunk, it is darkstep i.e. a relation of dubstep. but i'd say it's a hardstep/neurofunk hybrid. as we know, hardstep is not a relation of dubstep. we've all been on a sick ride - because of omega ;)
dnb was around nearly 10 years before dubstep thus making it impossible for dnb to be a subgenre of dubstep, and no dubstep is not a subgenre of dnb either, they are 2 completely different genres of music, also fuck what google says.
