I absolutely agree with her. Why are some of you breaking yourselves and willing to start your marriage off with someone in debt because you need a celebration? What exactly are you celebrating? Hold off on that party and if you can manage to stay in a loving and committed relationship for ten years and don’t hate each other, then celebrate that.

Flip side on the phone calls: I'm a stay at home dad. Whenever the school calls about our kid, they always call my wife. She is at work, while I am either at home or running errands. She gets so pissed when the school calls her. School Nurse: "Abigail, Lilly has a tummy ache." My wife: "What the f*ck am I going to be able to do about it. I'm in a board meeting right now discussing a merger of two telecommunications companies. Call my husband, Lilly's father." School Nurse: "But, we've always been told to call the moms.". We had to change the paperwork for our kid's school to say "Mike = Mom; Abigail = Dad".

i have absolutely used the "only my husband" excuse with anyone i didn't want to talk to, while single and living alone 😄 works like a charm
