I would love another go round of the Black Panther Party here in 2023 & beyond. There's education on what made it successful & what made it die, we can use that & make it just as strong & better. Power to the people & black power ✊🏾✊🏾
My only issue with the black panther is how colorism affected the organization. Many melanated sisters were apart of the movement however there is Angela Davis and Kathleen carter who are at the center
We have to stop leading with skin color in the black community as a litmus test for who is black enough. There were dark-skinned women hailed as leaders within the Party such as Afeni Shakur (Tupac's mom) and Assata Shakur. Personally I don't care how dark the skin color is... we've had many dark-skinned people betray the black community.
I had a recent occurrence where I accidentally jay walk across the street with my family going into a Chinese restaurant on New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, where a two white male used racial slur. I am wondering if I was to walk with a white woman and accidentally jay walked , would there have been any physical altercation towards me or should I say, be any different. That is something to imagine, because there faces look so mean and full of hatred. That area has change dramatically , I was there 18 years ago, it felt alright.
I am very disappointed in the reply of Mr. Boxing Ring Chess. He pointed out that I should bow down to him and wife, follow by knocking me out because I want to employ a African American descents. It is a rare gem for an Chinese man to hire a Black man for any type of work. I am an avid reader, as well a subscriber to Essence magazine. Apparently, he haven’t read this months issue , about the situation in flagging down a taxi in Shanghai, China, just because they were black. I write with no disrespect nor discrimination towards Black. Amen 🙂
As a white man..I think she must be one of the most intelligent and best looking revolutionaries of all time. (I myself am on the non violent,non armed side of the fence, protest wise).
The truth of the matter, when Blacks and minority’s make an inroad towards white mainstream society , such as owning real estate property and etc. , white people feel threatened. White folks tends to separate from the others, that’s how it is in life. For example, the changes in Detroit , New York City and across America. The time of black panther formation, the 1960s and 1970s, were brutal and harsh time for the Black people. I really respect what the black movement provided , which is leadership and recognition.

I just don’t like to get kicked in the back when I’m talking to a white woman or black woman. A fair skin black man and a student, at John Jay College, once told me the term call VOLUNTARY SEPARATION. A very powerful movement and terminology, it takes many year to understand and to endure in life, but it’s okay. I don’t smoke, drink, or have violent thoughts. The word HAPPY fights CANCER.
To the gentleman Mr. Boxing Chess King. I would like to hire the young black children’s , from Cleveland, Ohio to cut my grass, at least he won’t knock me out for employing him. Listen, there are new black immigrants that will die for that job. For example, Nigerian, Cameroon, Senegalese and etc. In fact, my business partner and financial advisers are Black. Asian Americans should have a choice in choosing across different platforms in society. You sound more and more like a racist white, who dictate how we make decisions. I don't believe that's true. As an old hippy I think Kent State, the Weathermen and the Black Panthers brought the end of peaceful protest. They injected violence into protest. And what it brought with it was a response to protest that could lead to death and permanent felony records which could follow you your whole life. This shouldn't be glamorized. That's not non-violent protest. That's not what lead to the success of Ghandi or MLK. People that promote this are misguided or naïve.
This isn't about what you "believe". She's stated the facts of the matter. Your generation failed to aid the black panther movement and chose ineffectual, neurotic liberalism instead. You people shouldn't be glamorized, because you failed to mobilize and challenge the state. You all cut your hair, put on suits and ties and became career liberal politicians. Fuck you you whitewashing sellouts. Peaceful protest for the peaceful, violent resistance for violent oppressors. And fuck you if you stand in the way of that.
You can argue over whether or not violent protest was on the whole helpful or harmful, and you can do the same over nonviolent protest. All we can really know is that both were tried, and we got some change.

You don't know you don't care you were there you're not a part of it. you don't know about Martin Luther King you don't know what he went through you don't know you don't care you weren't there. hours of black panther I saw the police inflicting violence on the black community then like they're doing now.
