It actually plays first in a season 2 episode when Kimberly is at a gymnastics competition with Aisha's old best friend #RewatchingTheOriginalPowerRangersOnNetflix and I think it was done specifically for Power Rangers. Saban owns the rights to it since they recycled it in Casper Meets Wendy, which was made by them.
I remember that episode :) Shawna (Aisha's old bestie) was jealous of her friendship with Kim. That song started playing as Kimberly started her gymnastics try out :) That song fit perfectly with Kim's moves... She was my first TV crush.
I don't know if anyone has been made aware of this yet but, the actress who played in the MMPR episode *Forever Friends* which is where I first heard this beautiful song, committed suicide in 2013 after struggling with a mental illness. I was looking for this song for ages!!! I love Casper meets Wendy it was such a big part of my childhood and I adored the movie. This was my favorite song in the movie and I've been looking everywhere for it.
This song reminds me of when I was in middle school in the late 90's, there was this boy that was in my class who had a major crush on me always flirting but I never gave him the time of day, I think it was more then puppy love I can't believe that was 25 years ago.

Kathy Fisher is an outstanding singer! She also did the theme for SWEET VALLEY HIGH. Was this song written ESPECIALLY for "Power Rangers"? Or did it preexist for some time before the series even went into production, and Saban Entertainment decided to incorporate it into the season 3 episode THE POTION NOTION.
Hard to say. It was also used in Sweet Valley High, which was around the same time, so it could have been written for one or the other and then used in both (and Casper). Kathleen Fisher is the wife of Ron Wasserman, who is the guy behind almost all the other MMPR music including all the main theme music. The band they're in, Fisher, hasn't been active for a while afaik, but they were still releasing stuff about till about the 2010s.
