So let me get this straight, they wanted to take a character from a game where they used the face of a actual person who they then drastically change the facial features to the point they no longer look like the real person and if the game had been successful they were going to use that same person to play that character in a live action show? I hate that Disney hate pretty much destroyed Star Wars. Litterally since I was a month old - my dad took me to the theater when A New Hope came out (yeah, douche move on his part taking a baby to the movies) - I have been a Star Wars fan. It would be so cool to see a GOOD series that takes place during the original trilogy timeframe. I would love to see an expanded view of what's Going on in the galaxy during the galactic civil War. But as long as Disney & Kathleen Kenedy is in charge, nothing good will come out.

Star Wars had a majority male fan base. Why did KK intentionally throw that away? Fire her. Fire Iger. DEI destroyed the industry. Bring back known good writers. Have men star we can look up to. Over the years I enjoyed female leads, but now it is a sign I will just be lectured. I enjoyed Furiosa, but my friend had to sell me Mad Max. Think about that and how men avoiding female leads, in particular trans looking leads.

I think i have a pretty common feeling that I will not watch any Star Wars that KK is a part of (anymore).

The difference between these characters and star wars females of now, is they weren't written as perfect little angels with no character flaws, and/or trying to push agendas.

I propose a 17 million dollar budget starwars Rei film where Bounty hunters show up at the moisture farm to kill Rei. Its the only Set. She spends the movie killing people looking for the ever increasing bounty. It reaches a Trillion credits and an army of Jawa in a sandcrawler show up to kill her. Rei shifts to the dark side when boba fett shows up to kill her and she crushes him using the force.

Imagine a world where Disney asked the fan base what characters/ story lines they wanted to see. Gave this base access to early production for feedback. Brought them onboard to promote the final product. The chance of a great final product would be so much greater. A win-win for all. Dreaming I guess…..

I'm happy to see Mike discussing Star Wars again. I could care less about Snow white or whatever lol. Anyways, I actually played through Star wars Outlaws at release, with a one-month subscription to Ubisoft+. It was actually pretty good and the atmosphere and space flight was fantastic. I liked Kay and Nix quite a bit, but it was a big let down that Ubisoft decided to go out of their way to make her look not-so-attractive. Kay deserved better and I'm just fed-up with that nonsense.. It was a bad decision to do that to Kay and sales figures proved it.

Star Wars Outlaws was "A Perfect Storm", Iger/Kennedy/Headland have done their best to destroy all interest in the franchise for the last decade, Ubisoft went full DEI and gave us Ma'am Solo instead of literally anything else that would have been infinitely more interesting. how they managed to make Kay Vess so ugly and insufferable is no surprise, her personality is just a mix of Kennedy and Headland, and they tried to make her look like every race all at once so as not to offend anyone, Kay Vess looks like a damned neanderthal...at least the personality matches.

So they changed the face of the game character to not match the voice actress who is actually pretty and then their plan is to bring that character into live action meaning they will have to get an actress who looks like the character. This means the voice actress will lose a job and then the new actress’ voice is going to be different to the character in the game thereby severing any real connection between to two. Great job Kennedy. I can see why Star Wars is in such a stellar place right now. Plus in a way I bet she is self-inserting which is why she is so emotional when all the plans fall apart. It was her chance to add a little bit of herself into something that will outlast her. Now only her reputation will.

I think Star Wars is essentially a failed franchise until someone else is in charge of it. I don’t plan on watching Rey or any of these others until something is made by a new Disney team. Thanks Disney, for ruining one of the greatest franchises of all time.

i just see Kay Vess as a Han Solo replacement. Another "famous smuggler" with contacts amongst a lot of different criminal elements that including face to face with Jabba the Hutt. She looks plain and scruffy with a hidden heart of gold under all the greed and she's a quick talking gunslinger with a super strong nonhuman companion. Oh and they hang out on Tatooine near Jabba's Palace during the original trilogy. And she innevitiably betrays most or all of her criminal connections in the name of the greater good and reminded more than once she's doing it for a paycheck. Its the same thing just trying not to plagiarize.
