The uk is an island and not the size of Africa. I liken the open door policy for immigration to filling a balloon with water. It will explode eventually. How can services like the NHS survive with a huge population? Yet the government and seemingly a lot of people in the uk who say all ‘refugees’ welcome seem blinkered. Maybe each supporter of mass immigration could house a refugee.

Kids no longer play in the street, my son is 18 this year, he is frightened to go out when comes back from college in case he gets stabbed, will he ever get a job or a house, or a wife and kids, it makes me cry all the time, and his dad also😢

Katie's first point needs emphasising. This will cycle again and again - the complaining and the clamping down - until some sort of resolution is reached - either permanent division or recognition of the problems driving the discontent and suitable compromise.
Katie, you are spot on with your analysis. They don’t want to admit they have screwed up. The government including the previous have been told and better told to stop migrants and totally ignored the public.
We need an open discussion about what 'British' actually means, and whether us ethnic Brits are willing to accept a foreigner like Wishy Washy Sunak as being the same as us - I for one believe someone needs to have had ancestors living here for several hundred years to be truly British. That means even those who have right of centre views like Priti Patel and Suella Braverman are not actually British and should never be able to be a Prime Minister
