It’s funny how she is still getting questions about Merlin and this took place in 2018! Morgana is a character that she is definitely most well known for. Morgana really is a fascinating character, I remember Merlin. It’s to bad it had to end.
17:58 Katie's advice on being an actor is so humble and kind. "It may seem insurmountable, but I promise you, if I can do it, *anyone* in this room can do it."
I love that she is so comfy and cozy in this interview. Not so formal and just generally chilling on the couch and answering questions from her lovely fans.
10:32 I never really thought about that point of view until I heard her talk about Lena Luthor (and she says the same thing when asked IF Lena would turn evil in s5) and that's when I started to understand the depth of the character & started to look differently and understand the complexity of Lena Luthor, and this leads us to reflect on people, the universe that each of us is and gives us a great opportunity to try to understand certain actions/attitudes of a character/person. I don't know if directors, writers realized the complexity of the character they delivered into Katie's hands so I've always thought that Katie is able to give us a lot more of her character if she has a really well written script, In fact, Supergirl had EVERYTHING to be one of the best show in the Arrowverse IF it had writers/scripts that valued and knew the character on a more complete level and I'm not just talking about Lena Luthor, but the other characters in the cast.
The best thing about hearing Katie talk is how she dives into the literary aspect of each character, shows, books, she talks about. Her ability to present us with this in-character perspective that we may never think about before is astonishing. I truly feel like I'm hearing my university professor geeking out. Supergirl really had so much potential. But it seems like the writer got amnesia every couple episodes or so. I wonder if we'd ever get to really explore the Luthor brainwash, explore Kara's feelings about being the last true Kryptonian living on earth, and how deep the impact of their past is towards the reveal. Thank God for fanfiction writers
When she says: "hey darlin" "hi gorgeous" "thanks love" awwwwnnn 13:26 She loves Russian Imperial/History and speaks with enthusiasm and ownership about, and I agree with her, and for me one of the things I find fascinating about history is how events that happened so many years ago continue to affect our current world, the present😍 22:56 - 23:35 I got you.. totally make sense ✌👊😉 23:59 do you prefer been a "good Luthor" or "Luthor in a great suit making trouble?" .. "I don't wanna be innocent cause I'm lazy" "its more fun been bad than been good, yes it is.." LOL ooooh my Katie's reaction tells me she would love to play bad for a while lol 25:08 you prefer the villains than the good guys: Katie: "Always, always!" "because I'm human, and I tend to identify with more flaw, a massive massive flaw" (recognizing your imperfections and flaws reveals your humility and i love it in a person)
See, one of the best things about Katie is that she really takes the time to try to get to know each of the fans she meets even though there are so many. She genuinely shows that she cares about the fans opinions, and she tries her best to remember the little details.
I'm American. She does not have an American accent. No one from hear sounds anything like her. She is from Ireland but lives in London. That is her mashup accent.
