I'm a 50-year-old straight white man and I remember when I was a kid and Purple Rain came out I went to the movies 9 times to see Purple Rain because it was such a fantastic movie. I absolutely fell in love with that movie. Also two other movies that came out around that same time that hit me really in the fields and in the heart was Dirty Dancing and La Bamba those three movies were my three movies of my childhood. At the end of La Bamba when Richie's brother runs up to the hill there and screams Richie it always makes me cry still to this day. And Purple Rain I could feel everything in that movie about what Prince was going through in his life and it was heartbreaking heart-wrenching but the emotions and the music were amazing and the movie was awesome and Dirty Dancing, don't even get me started with that Masterpiece and met Patrick Swayze rest in peace. Three perfect movies

Prince had to change his name legally to continue making music bc warner brothers thought he was putting out too much music. he signed to WB before he was 18, and wanted to put out music and to make the money he deserved BUT learned that the suits were making more than the CREATOR of the art. So the music industry and company that owns the rights to the music that the artist has created well if that artist dies it gives a huge spike in selling their music. So some people are worth a lot more money than they are alive and also those music companies and people that own those rights to the music and then dumped out a bunch of b-sides and seaside's music that was never meant to be released like they did with Tupac and with Prince. So the next time you hear about a really really famous musician dying in some strange weird way just remember it might not have been the accident that they are saying it is because there's a lot and I mean a lot of money to be made and therefore there might be just a little bit of shenanigans going on when it comes to their death. I still remember the day that Prince died and it killed me inside and I had to sit down and as a grown man I literally cried for like 20 minutes because Prince was a big part of my growing up as a child and I really got into his music and touched me and my heart and soul in many ways and some other musicians would never be able to do that. Chris Cornell and Layne Staley are off of two big artists that made me feel things in my heart and soul and were major talents that were taken from us way too early

I worked in the new muppet show tonight and Prince was a guest while going through his battle over his name . In his contract , if anyone said the word Prince , we’d be fired and escorted off the lot immediately . It was serious . He sent necklaces with his symbol to everyone working in the muppet workshop , with the most lovely handwritten thank you. A very talented young man, Matt, had made a Prince puppet and he sang ,”School Days.” He said it was the most magical day in his life . He was the IONLY guest I’m aware of that ever sent a thank you letter and gift to the puppet crew - not the film crew . It was magical being 5 feet away watching and absorbing his performance .
