I get why he's pissed. There's video side by sides of other black comedians stealing his jokes. I think what he doesn't get is that the industry wants marketability first, talent second because they want money. This illuminati he's talking about I think is really just the hyper capitalist entertainment industry, who continually pushed him aside despite his talent in liu of someone with more mass market appeal.
He’s washed up and not funny. I saw him do a standup show when he came to Memphis years ago. NONE of his jokes were landing. It was crickets. Then the crowd tried hyping him up, “come on Katt you got this!!” But that didn’t work either. His act was a mess and it was awkward. After a while he said “I’ll just come back some other time guys.” And then walked off the stage and ended the show. He ended the show an hour early. No refunds were provided. I’ve never experienced anything like that at a standup show. It was embarrassing.
You have to read my comment. I think you hit the nail on the head in a much shorter comment. They don’t like him because they want a piece of the pie and he is a solo financier as long as audiences are willing to pay. He has said this in more than one interview. He isn’t going to retire until his audience says otherwise to time. He is still in demand. Each tour is new material.

This was the one thing from the interview that rubbed me the wrong way. He def was disrespectful towards the women he spoke about. I think his criticism towards the men were valid, but then he would drag the wives of these men who did nothing to him.
I think a celebrity/true crime reading we'd all love to see (since yours are the best) is one on Gianni Versace and his murderer Andrew Cunanan. So many questions are still unanswered about that; would love to see what you'd pick up.

I believe Katt told some truths about Hollywood - folks do lose opps for saying no or setting boundaries, and there’s a lot of weird abuse of power dynamics being revealed with celebs. At the same time katt is also a deeply wounded man, who was raised with a lot of trauma and has a mean, tactical, misogynistic streak that prob helped his survival but isn’t helping his evolution - and his ego and hyperbole about himself showed in the interview. Interesting reading.

This reading was a humbling experience. I was ready to believe everything Katt was saying since it aligned with so much of what I believe to be true (especially with the recent Diddy allegations.) A good reminder to always examine my own biases and think critically. Even though Hollywood is still a weird place.
I don’t think Katt is lying, I just think he isn’t being honest about his own intentions. Everything about Diddy is 100% from what multiple sources have revealed. And I def think that Katt believes everything he is saying is true from his perspective though, just like Ant said. Hes right about Hollywood favoring certain people over others, but that doesn’t mean they are all bad people. Kevin Hart for example probably did get on the good side of Hollywood and was handed a lot of opportunities, but it doesn’t mean he’s a bad person. Diddy IS a bad person. Hes abusive and multiple women and men have been coming out to expose it.

Hunney, many of Katts claims, I was there and saw them in real time...Katt said what many of us in our 40s and 50s saw, talked and laughed about at the time. As black folks we have our faves and while Hollywood definitely discriminated against POC, there’s also some people who are extremely limited in their reach, Katt is one of them. His particular hood comedy style does not translate to everyone as well as say Kevin Hart who is more relatable to multiple cultures. There’s a range there Katt doesn’t have, same with Tyler Perry, not knocking his accomplishments but not everyone can relate to the Tyler Perry writing and programming. My comment may not be favored. I’m POC. I’ve watched several interviews as well as my husband being very well versed in his career. I also watched a behavioralist who is well respected. He did some fact checking as well as using his knowledge. Katt I believe IMO is salty that Kevin Hart & Tiffany Haddish came up fast with paying dues. His words. He didn’t feel they did their grind to get where they are. Is it their fault. No. They took advantage of what was offered. Now Steve Harvey and Cedric were fact checked along with body language. Katt spoke specifically on the preference of women he dates and explains exactly why. He also explains why he never married. He heavily supports comedians that work their craft of comedy that aligns with his ethics. He heavily supports POC in the community and doesn’t broadcast it. If it gets leaked it is coming from a close circle who wants people to know how proud they are. The higher ups don’t like him because he is a threat. He self funds all his tours he does. He doesn’t really heavily advertise his tours. His tours do well. This is a threat to big brother. He is controversial. I think part of it is who he is. I think the other part is strategic. It’s going to get talking. He literally broke the internet. He has a plethora of colleagues going to bat for him publicly. I think if you watched a few interviews it would make a lot more sense in what your cards were telling you. My husband has mad respect for him. The thing people keep forgetting is that the entertainment industry is extremely collaborative. You need to build and cultivate your network. You need to be cordial and set your ego aside. You need to treat everyone equally because the ones you see on the way up are the same ones you see on the way down, and they remember the people who treated them well and the ones who didn’t. You need to act like the CEO of your career and look for opportunities outside your comfort zone to grow. You can’t be resentful of those who are ambitious and court a global network while you stay in your safe little corner yelling at the clouds that you’re the most talented. The people who are successful in Hollywood are the most disciplined. You need to grow as a person and not be petty and jealous over other people’s success. It’s so cowardly, especially when you can change your own situation by being less entitled and bitter. Too many (men) in the entertainment industry think they’re entitled to success just for showing up or because they did one thing one time. The work is ongoing. Career longevity isn’t given, it’s earned.

Katt did talk about losing the opportunity to star in Ludracris’ role in Fast and Furious. Katt blames losing that job to declining to be in the black illuminated. I guess it’s natural if you lose out on a 60 million contract you start looking for something to blame

Someone actually showed Katt's comedy specials or parts of his comedy and put the date and then showed the comedians that he mentioned and the dates and thy 100% stole parts of his acts and other well-known people that Steve Harvey and the others that he mentioned stole from so that part is correct
Yep I don’t think he lied about any of that stuff at all. I think his own self perception is a bit of a lie. He exaggerates his ability a lot so it’s easy to look over, but it’s clear he thinks highly of himself and has trouble seeing his own flaws. I think some of the people he has beef with are people who do what is told without complaining and are rewarded for it like Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish, but that doesn’t make them bad people. They never stole his material, but was probably chosen for a role over him and probably are friends with some of the people he hates so he hates them in turn. Some of the other men he mentioned though like Cedric and Steve Harvey and Ricky Smiley, the criticism was valid and he was right to defend himself against them. People are very black and white now a days it’s either 100% support Katt or 100% don’t but it doesn’t work like that. Katt is a human being so he’s not perfect, but there was a lot of truth in what he said and I think it’s still important we listen to him!

Katt's interview was so bizarre and meant to gaslight people he didn't like. The part with Ludacris and him showing up to an illuminati meeting was ridiculous. It's embarrassing how many people are praising him, especially the black community.
Not all that glitters is gold. If Kat Williams had a golden ticket, he didn’t choke, he held true to his integrity and let it go. We have no idea what goes on behind the scenes in the industry other than what’s been exposed like Diddy, Harvey Weinstein, R. Kelly, Jeffrey Epstein, Kevin Spacey, Louis CK, and so many others who took that same golden ticket.
Not even ballpark. It takes a strong work ethic to make it and not everyone has it. You can't boil everything down to crime. Your man Katt did plenty of that on his own with assaults, so don't act like he's some kind of angel. He was even an actual pimp for awhile. He's no better. You have to already be a big name for any bigwigs to want to snatch you or blackmail you - he didn't even get that far. He's not that ambitious and wants to stay where he's at, then gets mad when those projects blow up after he turned them down. He didn't bring anything new to the table with this interview, but made sure he did it before he goes on tour. This is so predictable.
I think the issue with women you mentioned was Katt's unwillingness to go along with what he perceived as the de-masculinization of black men, personally and professionally, within the industry. In the interview, Katt mentioned that black men who want to go mainstream have to sleep with male producers (Weinstein, Diddy according to him) behind the scenes, and on camera they have to be depicted in dresses/or doing roles that involve posing as women. His unwillingness to do this contributed to missed opportunities/career stagnancy for him (in the interview he said he turned down four $50 million contracts on these grounds). So in a sense, he definitely doesn't see men and women as the same and has a very traditional perspective of how men and women should be. And if anything, I think the "talking down/a dime a dozen" stuff is the industry telling Katt "if you don't want to do this, there are plenty of black male comedians who do so we don't need you". I hope this helps. PS- the industry definitely thinks Katt is talented because the black male comedians they prop up have stolen his jokes. There's video proof of it. The only difference between Katt and the others is his refusal to do the "extracurrical escapades". And as far as the industry viewing Katt's success as a fluke- I'd say they degrade his success because he got it without having to depict himself the way the industry likes to depict black men. I could be wrong but that's my feelings based on having watched the interview.

Also, I wouldn't put it past the industry to have facilitated false allegations to smear someone who wasn't going along with their program- or to discredit someone who knows things about them he could expose. The Kennedys father did that early in his career when he was a Hollywood producer and wanted to buy a chain of theaters from an owner who wasn't willing to sell.
Disappointed you didn’t at least watch the top topics he discussed. Such as diddy being abusive, another comic stealing his jokes, the industry trying to emasculate men of color for success. So many interesting topics, this could’ve been a really enlightening reading. If you watched you prob would’ve have got the energy better, because it sounded to me that Katt was really trying to warn people of how dangerous Hollywood is. Like I was feeling scared to even visit LA after hearing him speak.

Definitely a curious reading.. Katt has been outspoken about the industry loooonnnggg before any of these “have beens” got their breakout roles, and I wouldn’t say the industry necessarily cares about talent more so than control over influence. There’s plenty of divinely talented people who aren’t a part of “the machine” for the very reason that they value their souls and morals. I don’t see anywhere to submit reading topics however I’ll put it into the universe;) A true crime reading on the case of Elizabeth Barraza (she was shot in her driveway 3 times at 7 am while setting up for a garage sale, they have footage of the suspects truck scoping the house out the day before and the morning of the shooting) be a good way to put energy to her case and serving whoever murdered her and their accomplices Justice!
Been in the industry for a long time and his info on the comedians named is true…a good portion of it was his comedic spin. It was engaging, entertaining and it got people shook.
Too me the reading focused on the things that has nothing to do with whether he was lying or not. None of the men in the industry is short of guilty for treating women like property.
