Katy Perry has been working hard in the studio on her upcoming sixth album. The “Roar” singer told Access Hollywood following the May 12th episode of “American Idol” that she skipped the Met Gala because she was working in the studio, but kept her lips sealed when it came to revealing the release date. “You’ll just have to wait and see,” she teased. Although Katy coyly dodged questions about her album release date, one thing is for sure-Katy’s time as a judge on “Idol” is ending next week! When talking to Access about leaving the hit reality competition show, she admitted she’s getting emotional. “I’m not really trying to talk about it much because I get a little emotional,” she said. “But I will take it with me for the rest of my days, in my heart, it lives on, on the internet for better or for worse. And I’m just hopeful that ‘Idol’ stays fun and constructive and honest and competitive.” “American Idol” season finale airs live coast-to-coast Sunday, May 19 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ABC, and the next day on Hulu.
