what i love is that it all works. some faito'o kills but it works! this is something that has been passed down from generation to generation from ancient times long before science had discovered such practices in the western culture. a lot of history in tonga is passed through word of mouth and it's sad that some knowledge has been lost. this is why when the pirates came like captain bligh they were amazed at how the tongans were able to survive in an island far far away. Our people were once warriors and our ancestors were very smart i'd have to say.

My grandfather's first cousin Faleaka is on this . Wow I was shocked to see her. She has now long passed God rest her soul . My Grandmother practiced the art of healing with herbs & my Mother does. This really touched my heart. To see my Grandfather's first cousin and to see a part of my culture & history this way.

This is amazing. I got to see my grandma Faleata and Grandpa Sione Ate was in the background. I stumbled upon this through Facebook. Thank you for sharing, they have both passed several many years ago now.

This knowledge of traditional healing is gradually lost as older women and men passed on with their knowledge. Tonga is just like Samoa where they used different plants for medicine for different health conditions and massage techniques for women, men children including new born babies. Love this video.
