The Kaufmann Stone is a lifelike and super heavy Stonefly Nymph Pattern. The Kaufmann Stone was developed by Randall Kaufmann and continues to be a standard in Stonefly Nymph Patterns. The Kaufmann Stone can be tied in many colors. The Golden (seen in this video), Black, Brown variations are the most popular and represent most of the natural stoneflies found in Western Rivers. Great video. Super presentation, been tying for as long as I've been fly fishing( 46 years) and can always use some tricks from others for easier materials applications.

Awesome and informative tutorial! Thank you for sharing. I am looking for the video if there is one, on the Woven Stonefly Nymph, which uses the vinyl-rib body and has 3 wing casings. Really appreciate help to find the video or even a material list.

The hook looks like a streamer #2, wire .020, thread white 6/0, Body Hare-Tron Dubbing Golden Stone, Rib Vinyl brown, wing case turkey tail mottled oak. I hope this is of some help to someone. Instead of putting up a material list, he gives a link to the whole fly tying catalogue on Amazon, the lazy sod, I unsubscribe now.
