Last night I was riding in my car, minding my own business, when I turned on Kavinsky and something weird happened. I was now on the Route 666; my car was a Ferrari Testarossa and on the passenger seat were a Mac-10 and what must've been a kg of coke. On my bridge nose, the weight of a pair of Rodenstock, and around my wrist a Casio watch. I took a peek at the date: 09/11/1987. I am now a fifty-something drug lord wanted by the Interpol and the FBI. Thanks, Kavinsky!

So let me explain the backstory: Kavinsky was a normal teen until 1986, when he met a misterious Ferrari. That car gave him a kind of superpowers which didn't develope until he died in this car crash. He became a kind of zombie. In the official video of Dead criuser you can see the aftermath

Alex Mercer It is the same thing, though Synthwave is the real name for the genre. New Retro Wave is just a group of people/website and youtube channel promoting synthwave music, art, artists, gaming etc. So a lot of people new to the genre will often call it New Retro Wave.

Weird how Kavinsky drives a Testarossa in real life but didn't correct the gearbox error near the end. He was slamming it into reverse. I drove one once and made that mistake pulling away.
