I didn’t notice much difference, and the CA49 is being clearanced out for $1899 right now, while the 401 is $3099. I would go for a P515 with furniture stand for the price though. Pick up some studio monitors for added sound reinforcement, and either of these are blown out of the water.
I had the P515. The CFX and bosendorfer sounded amazing however the action was far too heavy. I returned it for the CA48 which feels much nicer to play.
The Yamaha sound is much less detailed and worse than Kawai’s objectively, still it is good to play on though, if you don’t mind the action. The action is not able to play anything soft and fast.
I am thinking of CA49 $1900 & package Roland PFE50 with wood stand + 3 pedals, bench, headphone and expression pedal, Mic & Mic stand all for $1400. Though you can’t compare the piano sound quality with CA 49 and or the keyboard touch to Kawai compact grand feel , the Roland had more fun features and the PHA4 keyboard has similar “escapement” features at lease. Any thoughts? Please advise? I need to make decision on which instrument to buy. I am no musical trained just play by ear.
