RAINBOWS, magic, and anime have come to define the life of a girl who lives in her own rainbow-themed home. Jillian Vessey, better known to her fans as Pixielocks, has created a colourful life for herself, inspired by the Kawaii style from Japan. The 21-year-old fashion design student and RU-vidr lives with her partner Steve in a townhouse which the couple have decorated in a colourful expressive style. Jillian told Barcroft TV: “If I could sum up my style in one sentence it will probably be to not take life so seriously and to have fun."

I've met her at an anime con, and it was a great experience! We were both dealing with some mental health challenges at the time, and while I don't dress like that every day, I enjoy cosplay, and various kinds of street fashion, and it was a great experience meeting up with others who have similar interests at anime conventions. Sometimes I wish I had the courage and ability to dress more colourful and cute on a weekly basis because it does make you feel really cute and happy!

You know you're getting old when the first thought that pops into your head is 'what do they do for a living to be able to afford to buy all this stuff as well as pay rent, bills etc? ;) She moved to live in that house during design school ON HER OWN too, so she didn't have to work full time either. I'm just so intrigued and nosey. Quite something to have all the things she has without having had to graft a horrible full time job whilst living in a grotty share house with 4 other people. She seems to have sailed past that rite of passage. I have no idea who has been funding her life but lucky, lucky her. ;)

@@fundici You misread; how did she afford all this BEFORE her RU-vid channel grew into something that can generate a considerable income. That's what interested me. When she was moving into an apartment on her own straight out of design school. That era, I meant. People's finances interest me the older I get, it's nothing personal whatsoever. It's an old person thing. I couldn't care less about people's private incomes etc when I was in my early 20s. But now...;)
