Kawanishi goes by the name ShinMeywa nowadays. They design and build seaplanes such as the magnificent and quirky STOL flying boat US-2 for the JSDF. It is as large as an A320, with a start/stall speed of 90kph.

Speaking of Japanese sea patrol planes, we still have a few of them for Post-War Japan that aren't in game yet like the Kawasaki P2-J Neptune or the ShinMeiwa ones.

N1K2-J "Shiden-Kai" is my favorite Imperial Japanese aircraft, my second favorite is Nakajima Kikka

Hearing mega nerds going above and beyond building cool things civilian or military is always amazing. This made the N1K1 make sense on why its much better as a float plane compared to the A6M2-N. Now I'm having trouble with choosing my second favorite ww2 Japanese Aircraft line. #1 is the A6M Zero, #2 is now a toss up between the Ki44 line and the N1K1/2 line.

Please add E16A Zuiun soon. Japan's most beloved seaplane is the E16A. In Japan, there is an event called Zuiunsai, and there was also an interesting game event where E16A is worshiped as a religion.

N1K2-Ja is an excellent plane in WT. Good handling, good speed & very agile. Can carry bombs too. Useful in ground rb.

My favourite aircraft by Kawanishi was never put to metal, but the KX-03 was a 500 ton flying boat proposal that had 18 engines, 6 of which would have been jets.

Subarashii! Kawanishi developed many of my all-time favorite WWII aircraft. Outstanding planes from an exceptional company. By the way, aren't we still missing automatic flap systems for aircraft in War Thunder? Such as for Kawanishi's N1K2-J? These systems are looooooooong overdue in War Thunder, if so.

Of course N1K2-J, the plane of the IJNAS ace pilots!

Nihon planes on BR 4.7~6.0 are amazing mostly because by that time they finally ditch the harmless 7.62mm machineguns.

I have the J6K1! That things a beast, tons of firepower and decent maneuverability.

I just love the fact that you make the soviet ww2 tanks and planes so much better then they actually were in real life, and you don't even try to hide it. You can't just deny the fact that the soviets did have worthless vehicles, but why do you make them better? Isn't this game supposed to be realistic? And why do you put more effort to your channel instead of your own game?

Would it be too much to ask to allow all vehicles to be accessible on the test range? Not just premiums, those already earned, and the ones being researched?

I wish I could get the J6K on xbox but at the same time I'd be afraid of ending up with another mega-overtiered plane

N1K2, one of the best fighter during WW2 as well, it also help there was an elite squadron that use the aircraft (343rd airgroup)

been having a issue for a while and i cant figure it out. was flying my zero for 15mins then all of a sudden it pitches up full lock and i couldnt even control it. lucky i was 8km in the air to try and figure it out but i unbinded my X and Y keys and it still kept pulling. i switched to sim and changed the pitch and still kept going up. this has happened to me 3 times and there is nothing about it.

KI series planes were made of army so IJA not for IJN. Zero, Reppu, Gekko , Reiden, Tenrai. They were planes for Navy, sure some were designed by Kawanishi but they were not KI series.

excellent knowledge of the moronic top down planning which crippled genius Japanese designers even as Jiro Horikoshi who would have given them the A7M probably changing history. Today Shin Meiwa the successor to Kawanishi is just another dumbed down corporation: They don't even understand that their own US2 is by far the best flying boat in the world and there would be urgent need to build a CIVILIAN VERSION to service the hundreds of isolated and dying Japanese islands. Horrific incompetence is the only short summary for Japanese aviation today.

There's some misinformation here. 5:45 The "Jinpu" is not related to the float plane "Kyofu". Jinpu was a completely new land based interceptor developed on request from the IJN as a contestor of the 17th Land based fighter project. It initially rolled out as J3K1 with a Mitsubishi engine which turned out to be under powered, and so some redevelopment happened to fit a more powerful Nakajima engine. By the time work was even started, the land based fighter derivation of Kyofu (i.e. the N1K) was well underway and was proving to be on schedule so the Jinpu was cancelled. Jinpu was later proposed as an interceptor for later fighter requirements with increased payload and a new engine. The final derivation of Jinpu was the J6K which competed for a high altitude fighter requirement, but lost to the competition and never came to be. Also, the N1K1-J Shiden and the improved N1K2 were both proposed by Kawanishi to the Navy before being requested to do so, but the Navy never told off the engineers to work on existing aircraft. They were simply worried about the lack of experience in development of land based fighters in Kawanishi, so they held several meetings with them to assess their proposals. In the end, they gave the project a go sign. Additionally, contrary to the belief that the N1K2-J is just a low wing modification of the N1K1-J, major redesigns to the fuselage, and wing interior meant that it almost became a different aircraft. The fuselage was narrower to optimize for the new Nakajima engine, tail sections were redesigned and whilst the wing shape and planform stayed the same, the wing structure was redesigned to accommodate two 20mm cannons internally and fit the new shorter landing gear.
