I got a Ninja 650r 2012 and raced with a 2012 er6n. I won... I was more aerodynamic than the guy with no windshield. I was passing him at about 7 to 8 kmph faster. After the race, he told me that the er6n had no windshield and caused to wind to beat the crap out of him and caused a lot of wind drag; making the bike perform a little slower than the full fairing ninja 650r. We were racing at top speeds in a drag-style race at night, 2:00 am. No turns or curves. Flat highway road. No traffic or wind interference. Both skilled riders with more than 7 years of riding experience. We started with a very fair take-off and progression throughout the race. We were neck to neck throughout the drag until we reached about 190+ kmph. Then after that, things began to take effect. The er6n began to slow down due to massive wind attack while the ninja continued to push on. We both had our heads to the tank basically laying on the tank and hugging the bikes as tight as we could. We were both the same weight and hight. 86-87 kilos at 5'9" tall. Both of the Bikes were stock with only full exhaust upgrades. Same brand and model. Two brothers. SO if you want that slight edge in speed, get the ninja650r. If you want city/traffic advantage; get the er6n.
ER6f one of the best bike ever in terms of engine performance (for 650 2inline category), economy and engine reliability. I've used z1000sx (see my video gallery) and just fall in love with the bike design and sound (ofcourse every 4inline got nice sound) but in terms of reliability and performance for 1L bike is something still questionable.
awesome! would be great if got better view, how's the bike now? whats the mileage? would like your input for: Performance - braking ability, vibration, Gear(downshift does it lock back wheels or is it butter smooth etc), suspension, maintenance ? Practicality - does the temperature go up high on low rpm/commuting?, is it easy to handle on low speeds esp, when in jammed or busy road? some tips to take care of this bike? truly appreciate your comments as i might want to get a 2nd hand ER6F.

@smartroadbiker I've modified the signal light by adding relay so that when the indicator switch is not use both lights is always on - act like hazard lights
TQ.Speed 200KM/h memang laju..insyaallah jika ride dgn betul, waspada & motor dlm keadaan baik maka kita dapat mengelakkan perkara yg tidak diingini. Er6f takde KTRC (traction control) jadi kena lebih waspada dari motor saya jenis ZX-10R yang dtg dgn SKTRC..maknanya traction diantara permukaan jalan dan tayar sentiasa dipantau oleh sistem elektronik yang complicated..dlm erti lain jika tgh laju dan terdapat slippery condition maka engine akan cutoff dr melambung ;)

I have the same bike. my top speed yet is 198kmh with saddle bags. I've noticed that saddle bags create a bit of drag. it's interesting to see that it can reach over 210 kmh. nice vid
@jazz9019 both comes with same angine only differ by fairing and naked. My personal view get ER6-F the fairing as you'll feel much comfortable when riding at high speed.
@Ananthu90210 man..this bike is meant for beginner like yourself or even for intermediate experience rider!.... performance wise is more then enough for beginners bike at 72hp..design absolutely stunning .. handling - light weight, no hard pressure and less vibration compare to old V-twins or inline.. fuel is very economical .. all rounded bike!
@xBugJuicex Agreed.. Supersport like R6, CBR600, ZX6R are made for speed.. their engine can scream up the 16k rpm and above. Bikes like ER6, Z750 or even my new bike Z1000sx are meant for cruising with upward riding position which makes riding more comfortable for long ride or in town use. Oh ya full gear not for only high speed riding but its compulsory even you go for slow ride as anything could happened and this gears would be your only protection from loosing your face on route.
@84allani pernah dengar jugak statement yg ER6F boleh dapat that speed tapi i rasa amat mustahil kecuali telah dibuat heavy modification on engine etc. My new Z1000sx can only get +260km/h and that's too much of speed. I've tested with GPS and it shows -5km/h from the bike speedo. From my point of view ER6f ni one of the best bike for cruising and the engine is bullet proof if compared with Blade. Pickup is better, the sparepart is easy to get and cheap. Fuel consumption is very economical!
@kyjelly5524 well this is surely an economical bike with low fuel consumption, low maintenance (twin parallel engine) and of course test-proofed bike (same engine - Versys) for long distance and durability. Power..don't expect much like ur R6 - 130HP as this bike only has 72HP and top 220km/h..which is far from ur Gixxer! Upward sitting position and leg rest is fitted just nice for someone less then 7'. This bike is real 5* for town riding and smooth fun to ride cruiser on highway
@bukit85 Er6n & Versys share the same engine..both bike's engine is bullet proof and tested by long distance riders before so no doubt about durability. If you are going for real comfort then go for Versys, if for speeding (comparing versys & er6) ofcourse Er6f as this bike have smaller and lighter chasis. If you are considering more on sound then better get the 4-inline XJ6 as the other 2 sounds more like a moped but XJ6 a bit higher on the maintenance and running cost.
@cumxum Agreed for my kawasaki ER6F.. it show nearly 8km/h more from the accurate speed measured by GPS but for my Z1000sx it measured less by 15km/h once I've change the front sprocket from 15 to 17.
@XxColdFusionxX hello.. since 1994 on less then 250cc and almost 3 years for big cc.....yes a good bike for beginner..great connering (need to harden your suspension and with good tyre), user friendly and easy ride and upward position ... good for long distance as well.. with 72hp is just more then enough for beginner
@dzaxcool6 there's no big difference between that two bikes...but the maintenance is quite higher than er6f... meaning that u have to use 4 bottles of engine oil rather than 2 for er6f...
@haffizs16 ya I've ride my Z1000sx for 2 months now and the mileage now stand at 10k km.. will be doing the speed test soon once I get a proper bracket to hold my dslr camera.
is the 2012 worth buying? ive had an R6 and 2 GSXR's but i want something with better mileage and i want to sit upright!!! i like this alot.. whats a good OTD price if the dealed MSRP is 7,499? iwill i get bored with the power? im gonna commute and do long road trips on it thanks ride safe please respond if you have knowledge of this bike

im am so proud, when i search er6n on youtube, malaysian video was the 2nd while 1st is official video for er6n. hehe. btw, nice bike u got. i just test drive er6n yellow for the 2012 edition. and im so fall in love with it. the speed, the smooth, and the body is so damn sexy. now on, i only drive rxz. i really love to have superbike one day, the way u ride, i think before this u got rxz too right? one day im gonna have this bike too. amin!

My first gen ER-6F ABS always managed to get up to 212, even with the 35l topcase and sitting up straight, but when I put some better clothes on and removed the topcase it would usually do 217-218km/h, and I had +1 tooth on front sprocket so my indicated speed almost matched the GPS speed perfectly (it was spot on at 100km/h).
@MyLoveBass1 LOL! Test the speed with GPS and you might be only running at 170km/h max! The speedo meter on those bike are not accurate and you can't be running 150r single piston on its top for long else you'll be crying on the route side for help due to engine break..LOL!
@JuruVideo owwwh, i see. i taught er6n is a bit faster than 6f. btw, do u know any bike shops in malacca than can custom the 6f handle bar into a much sportier handle bar? or perhpas make it lower like a superbike XD...thx man

@iktikadara 150rr tu meter ringan .cuba guna GPS dan lihat actual speed motor anda ketika top speed..pasti anda akan sedih dengan kelajuan sebenar ;) ..lagi satu 150 tak boleh nak maintain terus menerus top speednya mahu piston tu berlubang.
My ER6N can do 200-205km/h, all stock. ER6F can go faster because of the fairing/ wind shield. If you want a really fast one, get an inline four such as cbr600, r6 or gsx600, my friend's 2008 r6 tops at 282km/h, with Yoshimura exhaust lol. Kawasaki z750 not bad, tops at 240km/h something. when we doing top speed, we wear full gear.
Thats only 130mph. Its not that fast man. Thats about the top speed of that Euro edition bike. You can change the ECU Chip around a bit and get more. Also the exhaust... etc. Not much more though.
I think it sounds great, awesome fucking bike. Hopefully getting a 650r next spring. Btw what kind of camera did you use to record this??? The audio and video quality is much better than alot of other videos on here.
Urm, tumpang tanya . kalau I angkat 250 ninja or CBR. Either one. Is it okay kalau nak ikot er6f ? Atau itu akan menyusahkan diorang ?? Sebab cousin dengan uncle pakai 650. Tapi saya nak pakai tak mampu. Huhu.. 250 pun very tight budget. Ingat nak ambik 650 blade. But takut jadi benda sama macam saya punya DTM . parts quality is very poor. Bukan nak compare. But I trust kawa and Honda parts better. But the 390 duke price range is nearly the same as 250. Soo can you suggest which bike should I take or buy , and I'm gona use it for a long term and everyday use. Base on parts price and all. Your suggestions and opinions is very much appreciated.
