Kawasaki ER6 2013 2014 unboxing and fitting of IXIL Full exhaust system. with DB killers. ** no longer road legal as the EU changed the rules after this was developed ** ( Jan 2016 )
I just want to say that this is the best DIY instructional video ive ever seen. Quick, detailed and shows everything youd need to know to do this. Thanks alot, this will help me soon =)
Great video but would be helpfull to mention the correct torque settings for the exhaust manifold nuts as they must not be over tightened. 17N-m / 1.7 Kgf-m / 13 ft-lb
Hi! And thank you! I really want these for my 2013 ER6F. Did you get a power commander (or other brand)? And if not, how is the ER6 running without it? Thank you in advance!
Brilliant video. Only thing I missed was a comparison to the standard exhaust next to the IXIL with baffles in. Was it louder or just the same as the standard exhaust?
Awesome movie , does it change the performance of the bike ?? and whats the weight difference between the original exhaust and the ixil one ?? thank you ... it sounds really great !!!
Ondřej Poledno Was not my bike, we just supplied and fitted to customers bike. He is very happy with the system now and stated it does go better. Standard system was very heavy and the new one lots lighter. not had them on scales sorry.
Original exhaust weight 8kg. Ixil website says 2kg. Not sure if it's the whole system or silencer only, but probably the whole system, since it looks so compact. My complete akrapovic system weights 4.1kg.
Hi nice video, i got a little question: i really like the look of this exhaust but would it be possible to have them rotated 90 dergees ? as so that they are in a vertical line above each other ... ? ... DIY L hook ? reweld anker point ? help ^^
thanks for your video . Just a question please . i would like to know if there is a CAT in the exhaust and if it' s possible and good for power to remove if it's possible ? thanks and sorry for my english i'm FRENCH ;)
Yes there is a CAT fitted in to the end of the down pipes, it is pressed in and yes it would be possible to remove it. But I have no idea it it will make it better if removed sorry.
Ixil do make Left and right cans for original twin side systems but not for this model. No idea if there would be any room for one sorry, dont have access to a bike to fund out sorry
Very good video ! I have a question, im wondering how does the bike run with standard exhaust vs this ixil. Any performance decrease with the new exhaust ? Some bikes loose performance in low and mid range RPM when they dont get run in with power commander after getting new aftermarket exhaust like this one.
As i only supplied and fitted the system i have not ridden the bike. The custoemr is well happy with it and has not reported any problems at all. we have sold a few of these and never had any reported problems. www.jesterstrickbits.co.uk
Absolutely yes you lose power at top my bike won't cross 180 after installing this exhaust with BMc air filter so get the power commander with it if you don't want to lost power
Hello mate, how did u place an order for this? Did you do it from the website? I tried sending the site an email but no response. Can you also tell me do they make these according to the motorcycle brand? I like the way you have fixed your underbelly, since my bike has an underbelly exhaust too.
So I've been trying to loosen the nuts that connects the manifold to the engine. I managed to do 2, the other 2 were badly rusted, however I managed to loosen one. But I noticed that the screw/bolt is also turning with the nut. I assume it's not suppose to do that? Can anyone please enlighten me on this? Thanks.
Hello! I just bought the same exhaust, I will receive it in 15 days. I have a quesiton: does it has the catalys for the emissions E3 ? Because to be legal it need it . The sound omologation and the E3 emissions omologation.
Yes the link pipe has a Catalyts fitted and as you refit your 02 sensor the bike will meet all E3 emissions. with the DB killers fitted the system is 100% road legal. ps we have them in stock.
jesters600 Does it mean that DB killers are sold separately? (not included w/ this full exhaust system)? Are the DB killers made specifically for these exhaust or can we use any other DBkiller (w/ different brands)?
Oh.... one more question, please... Is it Plug and Play? I mean, do We just install em as you did in the video then up and running... or do we need to tune further; something in the bike to adjust the new exhaust (consideration: impact on performance or anything like that).
The cat it pressed in to the end of the exhaust so i would of thought it can be removed, we can also supply the cat as a new item so it does look possible to remove/replace it.
I'm looking into getting this exhaust pretty much as soon as I get this bike. I know very little about exhaust replacing but this makes it look pretty easy. I have read a few things about needing to have the engine remapped when you fit an aftermarket full exhaust system. Anyone know whether this is true?
Not 100% true, as modern bikes are fuel injected and have O2 sensors the bike will correct the fueling and run ok. The advantage of fitting a power commander and then having it mapped will result in a soother power curve/delivery. we advise to have the system fitted and if you do feel any flat spots in the rev range then go for the PC and remap. Hope this helps. Nick
Oh sweet, fair play! I wouldn't mind having to get it remapped but it would be a bit of a pain in the ass in terms of extra costs, I imagine it isn't going to be cheap
There are some maps on the PC we site for free download, the Ixil is not listed but one of the other maps may be a close start to what may be required. Dyno centers usually charge around £150 for a dyno tune on your bike. but is it worth if? happy to sell you a £300 PC but not worth it IMO.
