Love the crackle and pop sound . As a 70s two stroke biker it brings back memories . So much nicer biking then in my opinion and much prefer the bikes around that time . Thank-you anyway for great vid . I'm sad for those lost times
This video brings back memories of the ton of smiles I got from riding my KH500 in the 80s. My only complaint is that you never really got into the powerband and let it sing. These bikes loved to live between 7K and 10K RPM. At the time I had mine, there was virtually nothing around that could keep up with me until over 120 MPH or so. I humbled many a 750 Seca (which was considered the fastest bike on the road back then) owner! Thanks for the memories!
My dream bike, had a kh250 in 77 but my 500 dream never happened.... This great video bought back happy memories and a painful one as I came off chasing my friend's 500 and wrecked it and me for a while.. Love that sound
Bill - yes the 500 was a fun bike to ride, wish I still had it, bt I sold it and bought an H2 which I had for something like 7 years, I have since sold that one as well, and bought a KH 400 - oddly enough that has period allspeeds fitted. In the process of rebuilding it at the moment, but when I get it going I will post up a video of it.
I so remember that wicked sound. ! My 2nd bike was one of these babies. Used to blow the baffles out of her if I didn't have them tighted up properly! Hit the power band about 7 I think and that rocket would just take off like a bat out of hell ! Sweet ride.. Great vid ! Thx for the memories!
I've got a KH100EX in the garage and it is actually the baby version of this, everything about it is the same just a lot smaller and slower! I wish I bought a 500 when they were affordable....
Great bike to ride, sold this one and bought an H2. Still keep in touch with the guy that bought it from me. My current project is a KH 400, said by some to be the best of the triples.......tiime will tell. I'll post up a video once I have re comissioned it.
Really nice run, bike seems responsive, could not make out figures on spedo (probably best not to know) reminds me of blasting round those roads on my old bantam, but I think your bike would leave me in the dust.
@@davidmacphee3549 A Ton is 2.00pm Ish when passing that Pug he's doing about 80 mph just nicely on the power band what a sound takes me back to when i owned one in the late 70's with the smell of castrol AHHH lol.
Drew. Camera is just a Go Pro mounted on a chest harness. Same camera I have used in my other videos, it just dosent seem to pick up wind noise. Perhaps they are designed not to.
@Bike Bloke - Well basically, I was hit by a car whose driver had been drinking alcohol, and knocked across the road and runover by another car which was coming in the opposite direction to me. I received multiple fractures to both my legs & arms plus various other injuries, which put me in the hospital for over three years. And to date I've had over 40 operations to try and repair the damage that was done. Thankfully I married one of the nurses that took care of me in the beginning and who still takes care of me now, by dressing a wound on my lower left leg which remains open to this day. It's been a long and painful journey but I still refuse to consider amputation. The joys of motorcycling eh!
@@ampersand56 that sounds really nasty, and I hope that you make a full recovery. I hope that the driver who had been drinking felt the full force of the law. Many years ago a young lady was killed on a bike by a drunk driver - lovely sunny afternoon and she was enjoying a ride when a drunk in a car pulled out of a pub onto the main road - she had no chance. Drink drivers I hate them. All the best.
Yes it was a great little bike, sold it shortly after I made this video and bought a Kawasaki 750 Triple which I had for about 7 years, now sold that one and have a KH 400 which I plan to get on the road this year. Kawa Triples are addictive fun.
Steve - yes, the ride was out of Wells up and over Pen Hill Mast, on through Chewton Mendip, and then right towards Emborough. Guess you must be local then? I no longer have the KH500 I now have an H2.
@@bikebloke5570 hi yes I live in Cannards grave, I'm sure I followed you when you were on your H2 as mandy and I commented that they aren't a common sight around here, I myself own a KH 500 and now ride these roads 😁
@@stevelester9015 Steve - I often ride up through Pilton to the junction at Cannards grave then out towards Frome so you may have seen me around, if you ever spot me dont hesitate to flag me down for a chat. Seeing any Kawa Triple on the road is a rare sight around here! Keep the good times rollin...........
@@bikebloke5570 will do, if ever you ride up the lane in Cannards that comes out between the two pubs, I own the first and only place only place on the right (the yard with the lorries in it) if the doors are open please call in 👍
@@stevelester9015 Steve - rode past your place yesterday, no signs of anyone around. I seemed to attract a lot of attention from blokes in the pub though ! Catch you sometime.
This is not how you ride a mach 3. The powerband starts at 6000 rpm and the gearbox is used to keep the revs up there. Under 6000 rpm you might as well be riding a Honda CB200. Very disappointing. Go out and try again and this time do it properly.
