this is fucking bullshit they locked this video on iPhones and iPads because of music that is playing in background. youtube is full of shit its all about the fucking money and advertisements. this is fucking stupid I'm not selling shit at all and fucking steve earl has block my video. record companies suck. people probably had never heard this fucking song. its not about the music its the bike fuck you tube and steve earl i will never play his fucking song again never bastard.
@regoobnomed yeah you have to get smaller diameter tubing to fit inside. then you have to drill 2 holes top and bottom weld all around tubing in spot weld the drilled holes fill it up. and same with other end. it is stronger than factory it will never break
@regoobnomed i extended it 3 inches. the reason why the bike has a short wheel base i wanted it to appear bigger i wanted to be riding in between the wheels not on top of rear. i wish i would of 5" stretch thats what I'm doing on next bike
for 50 bucks i would but main thing is the wiring harness make sure it comes with that. its a pain in the ass figuring out harness. by the time you are done you should have half the wiring out of it
i extended 3 inches i should have went longer the reason why if i did not extend it it would of looked like a moped. very short wheel base it makes it appear bigger
well i never bought the kz440, but i got an 82 virago 920 for $800 from a friend of mine and restored it. i like my custom paint job better than the factory color too. for a grand total of $1600, I've got a nicely restored classic:)
If my kz 1000 works out i'm going to try a xs 1100 or xs 650.. wichever i can find...they go some cheep in the winter..lots of the adds are worded '' doesn't run please get it out of my yard'' ..and they just need someone who is familiar with engines
i just bought an 82 1000 ltd...after watching this over and over and over...i'm gonna do something like this ..maybe exactly lol..don't worry im not from michigan so we won't look like twins...Imitation is the best form of flattery
did you relocate the shock mounts on the top or is that how you got it to be lower with the extra length on the swingarm mated to the original position of the top of the shock?
@chadllange11179 nice bike man... did you make any modifications to the frame? and hows the bike keep up on the highway? Im thinking about buying a kz440 and bobbing it out
This is my favorite bobber for this type of bike...it truly is a work of art, the only thing that i personally would have left out is the tribal on the tank and fender, but thats just one man's opinion and to each his own...still a beautiful fuckin machine. i am stealing ideas here and there from a bunch of videos and pictures because i am also customizing my own bike, and to be honest, your ignition button is sleek. but i promise not to copy your style though, it will have my own flair to!!
wow! great job brother! I am in the process of building my kz550 bobber. i just am having trouble with getting the rear dropped. did you just use shorter shocks. sorry if it's an ignorant question.
how exactly? cut the wight down improves the life of older bikes. coming from a motorcycle and car family teaches you that. less weight=less strain/load on the motor and trans.
Yes I had too. It was a night mare. Actually I went in eBay and there's a company that deals with the jets. And you tell em were you live elevation pod filters and straight exaust and they will send out a kit. And it work. I had to use a drill to open one of the jets.
My husband just picked up a 1980 kz440 ltd he really wants do somethin like this but hes also a big guy (6'1" 310lbs) who likes to cruise alot most, of the times over bumpy roads (not by choice we have really poor roads in maine) so idk if a bobber style would be good for his bike....... any ideas on what i could tell my husband???
I'm looking at doing that exact same bike and style of bobber but I have a couple questions if you have a moment to answer. Is that the stock frame off the LTD? If not, did you fabricate it or purchase it and from where? Is that the stock fuel tank? What would you calculate as the finishing cost of it all including engine rebuild if you did that? Sorry for the magnitude of questions, I just have to convince the house commander of any purchases is all haha
Love it. Real good job. Wish I only had 1/2 the skill. Love the colour and tribal pattern too. Mine runs real bad and is a b**ch to start. Anybody got any info on how to set up the timing plz share. Thanks.
I just picked up a 1980 440 for $300. With a bunch of issues. I fixed most but can't seem to get the carbs to idle right. I'm not planning on painting it but maybe strip it down and hack the rear end off. Very nice work!
whats up man,i know this video is old.but,i just saw it,great work.i have a kz 440ltd 1980 its already bobbed out some but I would like to exactly what you did.i would like to make mine simaliar to yours
Let me know what your wiring diagram looks like for that bike. I'm doing a custom bike and I'm having trouble wiring the ignition transistor and a few other parts
bike looks great i picked up a kz 400 ltd and am going to extend the swing arm 5 inches really do not want to strut the rear do you think the stock rear shocks what rear shocks would you recommend
hows your bike going. shoot me some pics. I have an older honda i need to build but summer my next project is a 1959 f100 shortbed truck. I'm gonna try it out. yah need any pointers hit me up
Thats were i cut the back seat bracket off. remember before you start cutting plan it out so when you look at it at every angle it looks good. just having the right angle on it makes a world of difference.
thanks for the compliment I'm in the middle of the second bike right now. it is a 1972 honda cb450 this one will be wicked. trust me. i will have it posted in a couple of months thanks for watching. i appreciate it
So where's your next bike? I've been waiting for it! :) I'm working on my own '83 kz 440 but I'm not a genius in the workshop like you are. I come back and watch this every couple weeks for motivation. Keep up the good work.
This confuses me. Why would you put a dual springer seat when you've got the rear shocks still? Also, what possessed you to pick that colour and decal style? I felt it got uglier the more I watched. Also, your seat isn't mounted straight.
Thanks for your comment next build I will make sure I get a hold of you just so you are happy. That I built the bike for you. Also when you have a bike that you built from scratch that you won a trophy with then talk your smack. Other than that don't go there. You should keep your comments to yourself and suck a fat one. Obviously you have nothing better to do maybe go build a bike yourself
Chad Lange Why so angry? It's a legitimate question. Sorry I wasn't aware that wasn't a modified frame and you built it from scratch. There is no need to be so hostile, as for your attempt to insult me, why don't you check out my channel. I am rebuilding a bike, stop acting so elite. Congratulations on winning an award for your efforts, maybe you should also get an award for internet douchebaggery? Good day sir.
Chad Lange Ignore him, just another 'I've been a biker all my life' (since sons of anarchy came out), and anything other than a black bobber I claim I built has to be shit due to envy.
Lol I used spray can for base. Color and a clear from autozone. But I regret using it. I should of went all out on clear coat base color is fine but clear coat you need to go all out. Gas has already damaged some of the paint on tank.
