yeah they had about 30 hp. In 2013 riding licenses changed in Europe and young people could only start with 15 hp 125cc bikes either 2 stroke or four stroke.
@@MotoSnax 1990 125 bikes got 15HP in europe, the 15hp law is from 1985, the 80's nsr was 27HP, the 90's nsr is limited to 15 (but you can un-restrict it to get the 27hp back). Mine is still limited but does 150km/h (un-restricted it can does 170km/h)
If one needs to get from point A to B quick, the highway / freeway would do the trick. Boring, but fast. And safer too as there is no oncoming traffic. Most bikers get killed on urban roads over here.
@@MotoSnax Actually a lot of accidents happen due to speed. Many times the reason is car turning left while morotbike trying to overtake it. When you are on 50km/h road and try to take a turn you take a look into mirror to see empty road. Just 2-3 seconds later you get hit by bike that shouldn't even be there, because it approached at 150km/h and actually showed up in your left mirror for a split second before the accident. In many cases if not motorbike's speed the accident wouldn't happen.
@@TapChanek not where I live. They do it while you ride normal speed. You should only ride faster where it is safe. Doing 150 kmh outside of the highway is asking for trouble.
my top speed was downhill with backwind and stellar support on the moon 315km/h , am finally back with my kawaski ninja roover from apollo 13 ( joke) , thx bro for the info, glad your honestly reporting this ,may love be our guide , love to all that is
Still 116 km/h for a 125cc Euro 4 bike is good. My 2008 Suzuki Address 125 is Euro 3 compatible and at 120 km/h the speed limiter kicks in. If you disable the speed limiter on this one (the Ninja) and with a bigger front sprocket (+1T front) my guess is that it will get at around 120ish km/h. Nice bike! :D
From what I've heard, manufacturers must have at least 2 restrictions on the bike. But I think that is for A2 bikes, not sure about A1. It is just waiting for new videos of modified Z125's. I don't own the bike so I can't modify. :)
@@MotoSnax One restriction is surely in the exhaust system. The other is in the ECU either by using speed limiters, RPM limiters or less fuel injected in the cylinder. Mine has the restriction in the exhaust along with the air filter (Euro 3 model). I replaced the air filter with a KN one and it's a bitter. Not a hotshot but it accelerates stronger.
I used to own the 250cc version, called Ninja 250SL here. The fastest I could take it was 140 kmph on the speedo, but it could've gone at least 10-15 kmph more without problem. I simply lost the gumption to actually put my life at stake to see that happen. To make it worse, the vibration was so crazy at above 8,000 rpm, I feared something would fall off or tear apart.
I one filmed the top speed ot he Z250SL I rode; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E2x8d3W3lUE.html turn the volume down before you watch.
Sure you can reach this speed with that weight. With pillion it will be a lot slower. Would not be comfortable to ride it on the freeway with 2 persons.
You videos are 💎💥 It would be nice if you could make these videos from other bikes, like ktm, yamaha and honda, 2-stroles would also be interesting. Keep it up😎
Hi, any idea what type of helmet lock should I buy for this bike? And where can I install the helmet lock? There doesn’t seem to have a place for me to lock my helmet
I own one in Singapore, the top speed I've reached on it is 120km/h on the speedometer. The engine was restricted by the default preset of the ECU. Tbh, not really all bad for a 125cc here
Check some of my other riding videos on the channel to see if you think the sound in those videos are horrible as well. Then you know it is the mic or the exhaust.
Not sure how it measures speed, but if it does do that per rotation, your speed differs because the tire is bigger than how the ECU has been set up it might expect a 60 tire. Try GPS to be sure..
is that a DOHC 125cc engine paired with 6 speed transmision? i have a motorcycle with 125cc SOHC engine and 4 speed semi-auto transmission. its maximum speed is 110kph with top gear and almost top rev (9000rpm). is that fast for its spec?
@@MotoSnax well glad to hear that. i was thinking that my bike is actually suck because its 4 speed transmission. it can't even compete with cars at highway and the engine probably would blow up if i go over 110 because this is the speed it can achieve with 4th gear and almost max rpm. but after watching this video i think it's actually a normal phenomenon for a small cc bikes for not going so fast
@@oliwierlewandowski5171 Got mine up the limiter at 156 three years ago, highest in straight was 143 with ~100kg driver. CBR has not the most power or best acceleration, but a very high topspeed.
Where did buy this ninja ? I mean saw a lot of comments form Europeans saying: mine goes to 120/130)and this year im gonna buy one of these and if the max speed is 116 not gonna lie but I prefer my 90cc Aprilia sx (4th gear 110kmh)
Is it possible to make this bike reaching more HP? The Fantic Trial 125 that my father has in the 80’s was able to reach 120 stock, and with the works made by himself was able to reach 170 without problems. And it was a trial bike, in the 80’s a 125 sport bike like this was able to reach 200 Km/h
I have the 2021 Ninja 125. That speed is correct. There's a company in Germany that changes the limiter on the ECU, I don't remember the name, But you need to send them the ECU and they take care of it and send it back. I had a ktm rc 125cc before my kawasaki, had a top speed of 145kmh. But no acceleration whatsoever. The previous owner changed a lot of stuff in it.
Environmental laws. Everything has to be 'greener'. That said, the YZF-R125 2019 did 140 km/h. Still, 125's are slower nowadays than years ago. Now there is Euro5...
Well I certainly wouldn't buy one after seeing/hearing this. Aprilia RS 125 for sure! Four stroke 125's are not as fun as the two strokes. Admittedly, the RS breaks down more often but overall I feel it's worth it.
But if you have an A1 license you are allowed just to ride a 15 hp bike. That RS125 your are talking about has 30+ hp. I think there were some restricted two stroke ones, but they would be slow too.
@@MotoSnax Ohhh, I didn't know that.. that's fair enough then. I passed my CBT and got a year 2000 RS 125, I believe it was 32 bhp. That was in 2004, many years ago! Thanks :)
Not sure if the UK had the same licenses but in 2004 we had a 25kW (34 hp) and full motorcycle license. At that time you could buy that RS125 at the age of 18. Now you have to be 20 in The Netherlands, but in other countries you can still buy it at the age of 18. One Europe, LOL.
Thank you for this video, I had a 125 RG of 33hp at the time it exceeded 160km/h. I'm looking for a 125 while waiting to validate my A2 license, I'm going to turn to a small, inexpensive motorcycle given the scooter performance of the super sports car presented here. 😅
well in europe at least in sweden 125 cc bikes are classed as light motorcycles and you can drive them from 16 years and up, but light motorcycles can only go up to 120 km/h
I would not go push the bike beyond the redline. The bike wants to go faster, the restriction stops it... but if you remove the limiter and go past the normal boundary that would be bad for the engine.
I did a top speed ride on a 2019 R125 last week and managed 140km/h. So yours can even be faster in the right conditions. Ninja 125 is restricted somehow. But if you manage to remove the restrictions I am sure it will do 130+ also.
It has got to do with some regulations in Europe. Euro4. Now I don't know why Suzuki and Yamaha are faster, because they also must obey the Euro4 rules. That is why I hope the 125cc will also be sold in for instance Asia, to see how fast it goes. The Ninja 400 (and Z400) are also powered down just a little bit to comply with the A2 license. So the 400's have 45 hp, while the Asian models have 49 hp.
@@MotoSnax I did not know that at all. The new Yamaha YZF-R125 makes 140 km/h, which I have seen in a video. I do not understand why the Z125 only 116 km/h. But would be interesting what the bikes in Asia create.
MotoSnax yea i think that is chinese but somebody says that peda x road is Italian, i dont know. It looks pretty nice🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️ i had two chinesse motors and it was great experience for me
They probably say it is Italian while it is being manufactured in China. My experience with Chinese bikes is not good. There aren't there yet. They probably will, but it will take more time. The Japanese had bad bikes in the past too and look at them now!
Air cooled, 8.8 kW instead of 11 kW, probably worse brakes and a speedometer being way too positive. Don't think it is a better option. I'd rather pick the Suzuki GSX-R125 or Yamaha YZF-R125 (though the Yamaha is way too expensive for most people).
10% is only for Chinese bikes. The rest is 3-8%. Check out the Z125 GPS top speed which is no different from this Ninja 125. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1Dfa9iK6kmQ.htmlsi=0UVsr_64WdoXXL0r&t=90
If you're hitting rev limiter, then it's not top speed limited, but gearing limited. I'm sure with different sprocket it could go faster. As long as you go full tuck.
People, you are forgetting the important thing: it's dangerous. I mean, most of the roads are for 100 and 120 km/h. And the motorbike doesn't even allow you to reach 120. That actually scares me a f*cking lot. What if I want to overtake someone. What the hell Kawasaki. That's dangerous and stupid. Go for a CBR 125 2011 and leave this, honestly. I really like Kawasaki, but this, just wow. Edit: logically, I think we all would bet a hand saying that the engine could reach 130 km/h unlimited. Pretty much sure.
Overtaking on a 125cc is most of the times impossible. Over here the urban roads are 50-60-80km/h. Some are 100 km/h. But in Germany between cities and villages a lot of roads are 100km/h. Anyway, where I live it would be fine for urban roads. For the freeway best is at least 250cc but more is better.
@@MotoSnax I forgot to indicate that I'm from Spain hehe. Anyways, trucks are stock limited to 90 on the EU I think, so if you want to overtake with a Ninja 125... The ideal would be to reach 120/130 and then go back to the normal speed. If someone does 90% city 10% highway, it can be fine I guess.
In The Netherlands only idiots enter the freeway on a 125cc. Even on urban roads you need enough space and time to overtake a truck when riding a 125cc. Better not overtake at all. Unless someone is really slow. Best is to have more power, but with the A1 license you are not allowed. It is one way to drive young people into cars instead of them choosing a motorcycle.
I am leaning down a bit as you can see the cockpit is close at top speed than on lower speeds. Next to that, did you hear the limiter? You can't bypass the limiter by ducking even further down.
Ah ok. Well I always tuck in and lean down, but it does not look like it because of the camera angle and field of view. But this one is limited somehow to 116 km/h. With 15 hp you would expect it to go 135-140 km/h.
Di Indonesia terutama di kampung" asal pke mtr keren gk peduli cma 125cc, aye jamin mudah dpt pcr ... Bkn brrti blg cwek tuh matre, tpi memang kenyataan mtr keren itu pntg untuk menambah nilai penampilan .. apa jaman modern gini
there's alot u can do.. the easiest are the sprockets.. how is this 125 limited? issit ecu? but then.. top speed is not everything.. if top speed is what u want then bwtter wait for a bigger bike.. cheaper too
