Despite what its name might suggest, the H2 SX is neither a supercharged H2 with added panniers and screen, nor the best-selling Z1000SX with the H2’s 197bhp engine wedged in. No, the H2 SX is much, much more than that.
So, for example, although the H2 SX’s tubular trellis frame is similar to that of the H2, its engine is mounted two inches further forward; its head stock is shallower and its wheelbase is extended (by 25mm) for added stability. I own a 2013 ZX14R SE, it's an"increadable" motorcycle. In my eyes Kawasaki can do no wrong. Keep em coming Kawasaki. Always number 1. Kawasaki is and always will be the bench mark for "all" other manufacturers, and they know it.

Kawasaki is simply the only manufacturer who still retains some passion to make motorcyles! Unlike other Japanese manufactures who're now about the business game. Although I love how Yamaha care to keep their lineup clean, but Suzuki and Honda are just too retarded! Let's not talk about HMSI and Suzuki India tho xD

Love that these bikes come with a 5 year warranty. That's way better than my FZ 10 and Ducti warranty. This bike seems great for someone who one to cruise but have so power to pull when needed.

My 2012 zx14r is all stock except for lsl handlebar conversion and it is very comfortable for my 66 yr old body. I rode an h2sxe and the seat was hard and it has been detuned compared to the h2 for fuel mileage.. My zx14r feels much stronger and more comfortable plus it cost less.

By simply reflashing the ECU horsepower goes from 171rwhp to 230rwhp. In-effing-sane.

IDK why but i feel the zed-x 14R is still a cooler bike, same hp for $1000’s less too. I was super excited about this H2sx but it has lost its lust factor. The big cc brute power of the zed 14R still reigns supreme for this fella.

I love the look..the sound..and the ethos..but why is this heavier than a standard GS?? Surely this should have been a sub 230kg bike..needs brembos too for 18k..

They should have put in a Semi-active suspension.. and a parking assist-mode.. this bike is Top Heavy and probably hard to manhandle... maybe on the next iteration.. This thing is a Touring Spaceship..

Really what's the point? Speed traps everywhere, here in France they're lowering the national limit to 80kmh - for road safety reasons don't you know - crap! So the only place I go fast now is on the twisties! Believe it or not they've even been straightening out some of those because some people can't make it round......😩

Well, in my country speed traps aren't able to catch bikes at all, only cars. They've actually been tuned to not even register vehicles under a certain weight.

V nice but I'll stick with my ZZR1400 Gen 2, thank-you. I rode it 260 miles to Scotland a couple of weeks ago only stopping for fuel and the only discomfort I experienced was the cold weather.

A big Kawasaki fan for the last 50 years. The last Kawasaki I had was a 2013 ZX1400R, silghtly modified to run a higher speed at Bonneville Salt Flats.. I guess I could have used my ZX1400 for sport touring if I didn't care about my license or maybe dying. My question is this a real world sport touring bike or Kawasaki making some crazy gesture? Really don't see the point, maybe I am too old to see it.

He didn’t mention there are 3 power modes. I had my ECU flashed at 228 hp but find I only ride in medium mode. Plenty of controllable power. I put it on Fast mode and it is truly insane the sheer power overtaking cars is a blip. Low mode I ride in wet conditions with 50% power. Still plenty and if road tripping probably the most fuel efficiant if you need to cover distance between gas stations. Had a Hayabusa and zx14 and this is hands down the best bike I have ever ridden. Kudos to Kawasaki you nailed it

Alphazeno is right. It's a touring model so it's geared totally different. The one you want is the h2 supersport. It costs more and is way more dangerous and faster. Oh yeah and less comfortable for long rides.

Sorry. I love Kawi but why. Will this engine actually last under high mileage conditions. I'm all for power and performance but for what will probably be a very expensive bike it should last 100k miles and 20 years and I just foresee problems with that. Tbh.. If I was loaded though I'd buy it in a heartbeat.lol

Considering a regular 1000cc super sport bike cranks out 200 bhp, I can't see any reason why this bike will have any particular reliability issues when it produces around 200 bhp with a supercharger. And keep in mind the original H2 is a few years old now, so any startup issues with the supercharger itself would probably have been fixed by now. But who knows. Like all Kawi bikes though, it comes with a 5 year unlimited warranty (at least in my country).

Total overkill for a sport-tourer for the road. As ever from MCN, testing biased to ragging around on a track and little thought for what the bike is supposedly designed for, touring on the road. A lighter, smaller engine with a supercharger for more torque rather than enormous but unusable BHP would be better, as would an adjustable screen, and I bet heated grips aren't standard either, so forget the tourer bit. No point in testing a road bike on the track, a good track bike is rubbish on the road, ask any road-racing team. As for turning traction control off, what is it with journalists, trying to be all macho? If you're riding anywhere on the road and the traction control kicks in, you've made a serious misjudgement of the conditions and you need to re-evaluate your riding and bike control.

VFR800 use to win best sports tourer for years from every magazine until bikes like these knocked it from grace. Sports touring bikes do not primarily focus on just touring.. They are just middle ground bikes... Just a bike that's decent at touring and decent at being a sport bike. They are your every day bike a.k.a the swiss knife.. Bikes like the FJR1300, Concours 14, and BMWs are falling from grace. Also, enough with the torque nonsense... I Don't honestly care about torque... I've ridden plenty of different low end bikes with no power.. so what powerband I receive honestly makes no difference to meet. If I want power I shift down instead of being lazy and just wanting to roll on the throttle.

Anybody know how the seating position compares to a Z1000SX (Ninja 1000)? How much strain does it put on your wrists? Seriously considering this bike, perhaps in a few years when it's possible to buy used '18 models as I feel $45 000 is a bit steep for a new one (yes, motorcycles are ridiculously expensive in my country).

Define "better." The H2SX has more tech, is more comfortable, is significantly cheaper, is a little heavier, but is just about as fast. The H2(R) is basically a bike for the track. The SX is a version for every day street use. Your definition of "better" may be different than someone else.

For riding at night. Most lights now have a pretty severe cut off at the top of the light beam. When you lean the bike into a corner, the beam(more a horizontal bar, really) tilts, and the corner goes dark. This fills in by shooting light into the corner your running.

Likewise, I decided on the performance tourer with the Akro, tinted screen and of course all the toys. I’ve put all sorts of subtle goodies on it too. Be interested to see what tyres you use? The S21 and 22’s were brilliant, but only lasted 5 minutes. I’ve been running T31GT’s for nearly 4000 miles now, trying top spec Metzeler 01SE’s next...

thats not the point i use a 16 cbr1000 everyday as a commuter to work and back is it practical no but i ride it because i enjoy it do i need all the power no do i try n use it well sometimes even tho i shouldnt but i do it because it makes me happy i allso have another 06 cbr1000 in the shead with 2mm+jp pistons counter ballance removed with balanced n lightend crank cp rods biggest lift cam from pipercams they offerd to beef up the mid upper to upper part of the revrange + ported head and a tiforce exhaust and yess its stupid but i ride it because .. it makes me smile i live in the country so i do getaway with doing less intelligent things at times but and this is the whole point the way the bike feels and behaves and just everthing about its massive overkill in every way bring me joy and puts a smile from ear to ear i wouldnt get a h2 because its not the massive overkill that im lookin for and im shure im not the only 1 i not being a tough guy its just what i want

Plopracer touring bike to me is wrong description. I own the ninja z1000sx. Its technically a touring bike. I've never toured and never plan to. Its simply a comfortable upright everyday motorcycle that has 140hp with ktrc and hauls enough ass to keep my speed need in check yet lets me do it comfortably. I suspect this bike was made for guys like me that can't ride gas tank humpers for more than 20 minutes at a time.

Sports touring... People who ride these kind of bikes aren't trying to tour the world.. They are just trying to do a few hundred miles in comfort and hit some twisties then go home.

Not really.. this bike is attempting to fix everything that was wrong with Sport touring bikes in the first place. A bike with more reasonable ergonomics, luggage, and still just as fast.. as the liter bikes..
