I've always wondered why this is everyone's first mod to their bike ...personally, I like the look of the stock pipe. Good looking bike ...I'm in the market for one!
That is a easy one to answer,The OEM pipe hits the back of my right leg.And I was concerned that my boot may get stuck under it when off-road. Ride on,Cheers;)
What has kept me away from installing an aftermarket exhaust to mine is that most of them make it sound like a single cyl revved up, this one is the best one I've heard through a RU-vid video, but i think i would need to try one first before making a full switch. The bike at stock sounds good after 6000 rpm, not sure if these exhausts would improve on that.
I just received my generic exhaust can (same one you have) where did you get the connector piece ? I only have the adapter that you show on your first install. Looking for the connector pipe you have in the later part of the video..thanks
It was all in the kit from the Ebay seller. That is the connector I cut to fit. Will you send a photo to my email here on Ebay so I can see what you got? Ride on,Cheers;)
You say in the beginning of the video that you will leave details about the new pipe in the description... I'm interested in doing the same as you, care to share more about the pipe and how I can find it? Thanks
Hi Michael,I got the muffler on Ebay from "Professional_motors" for $65.00 shipped. I did cut the stainless steel connector part to fit the hanger mount. You'll need to see how it will fit up to your VX3 when you get it. Also, look at the Danmoto pipe for this bike on Ebay. They have a more exact fitting system. hope that helps? Ride on,Cheers;)
Only good reason to install aftermarket pipe is to keep the original scratch free for resale. Weight difference is fuck all. It's a quiet bike which is good if you don't want to attract attention.
The only thing i don't like about this bike is it's sound. This sounds like a good plan. It'd be wonderful to hear it from the riding position. Could you maybe make a very little video and record from your sitting position?
Hello Matheus,Here in the US, We have many on Ebay to buy from. I got one for $65.00 Us shipped to me.I had to drill a hole behide the ride passenger boot peg to hang the pipe strap. I did cut some of the right angle tube to make it fit in place. Their are many people selling on Ebay that will fit with no drilling or cutting. But they all cost over $300.00 and up.One band of muffler is "Yoshimura" and "Akrapovic" and many others. Ride on,Cheers;)
@@PRTEVYBMW how are you liking those tires now that you've put some more miles on 'em? I just got a newish Versys-X with stock tires, so I'm considering my options to upgrade.
James,My intentions on replacement of the OEM muffler,is to drop weight and to narrow the pipe so the back of my leg stop hitting it.Kawasaki made it to large in my opinion. The cost was very low and has been very good so far! Ride on,Cheers;)
why pay a stupid amount of $$$$ just for a brand name, ???, here in Australia i cant afford $600-$1200 for just a slip on muffler, i am just waiting on my $75 KO brand slip on muffler to arrive, if it was for my $20,000 naked sport bike then yes i could justify $1200 or more to get a better sound & more performance, but not for my 40hp $7000 Versys-x300
