Looks like it’s a more capable bike off road than most are thinking. Thanks for sharing.

I have the exact same bike! I put a light on the front as well and is wired into my brights! Another thing that really helps with this bike is vibration dampening and a taller windscreen. Those two things make highway riding 50% better!

What windscreen are you using?

@@ReeceStanley91 Puig that I got off of Revzilla. Light smoke and 11 CMs taller.

Thanks loads, man. Always great to see what others are using. I fabricated a 1x1 inch aluminum angle stock and attached it to the front of the T-Rex engine guard using their bolts, then added an Auxbeam light to each end of the bar (4 inch "spot" type with 9 elements each - from Amazon). Works great, but not street legal at night. I use them in the daytime so other see me better and at night in the back country. Thanks again for your vids. What great bikes these are. -Ray near Durango

stock tires are fine unless mud or loose sand, otherwise they would of surprise you for good, they did to me!!

Hey man, thanks for sharing, very useful videos. Coming from dirt bikes, how do you feel the suspension on the Versys? I understand you haven't push it to its limits (unless you had an accidental bump XD) And the abs system? This bike has called my attention lately but I am not sure about the behaviour of the suspension and the fact that you can't disconnect the ABS in an easy way. Cheers.

As you would expect, its somewhere between a dirt bike and street bike. Great suspension for the street, but lacking off road. I have hit forest potholes in my versys and it wasn't fun, but glide over them in my KLX. Mine does not have ABS, so I can not comment on that, but my brother-in-law just got a CRF300L and he got ABS. He told me at first he didn't know what to think about it, but after our first trip riding, he said he loved it. In fact, my cousin locked his rear tire trying to do an emergency stop and ended up laying it down. My brother in law did the same and didn't have that problem. I do sort of wish I had ABS - but again, I don't have first hand experience with it. In conclusion - you should get the bike! haha! Thank you for your comment!

Nice bike and thanks for sharing your thoughts. Btw, do you prefer the Kawi bikes?

I've had Yamaha, Honda, and Kawasaki. I've liked them all. Hopefully over time I will be able to own some other brands also.

I see that you have the T-Rex Racing crash bars. I have the same and they've been great. I also added their bash plate and it's been excellent also. I take mine on parts of the TransAmerica Trail a lot of gravel roads and jeep trails (I live in the wilderness and have to ride 5 miles to hit pavement). Does pretty well for a bike of this type. QUESTION: What kind of light bar did you add?
@uthe54
@uthe54 3 года назад
I just bought one on Amazon, and a clamp kit to mount it to the crash bars. I'll do a video review on them sometime. Thanks for the idea!

You said in the video and it showed in the night scenes that you had some kind of light bar mounted. Which on is that? -Ray

So what are you actually saying about the Versys X.....with the 329 miles you've logged?
@albertgetty9382
@albertgetty9382 2 года назад
I have had mine for about 10 months and put 3000+ miles on it. Heidenau K60 Scout tires and it will go anywhere I am brave enough to try. Best bike I've ever had for dual purpose.
