Three questions I’m about to buy a new w800 same year as yours How long can you ride comfortably on the new seat Did the risers you installed need any cable replacement are the cables long enough What’s the 2000 sound like under acceleration I enjoy your commentary and the channel thanks for taking the time Are those tank badges glued on I would probably carefully remove them That with the new seat would really make people wonder if it’s an old BSA lol Thanks again
The new seat I have done a 4-5 hour ride, which is a couple of hours more than the stock seat broken in. I am still breaking in the new seat. Stock cables with the 28mm risers.
How does the seat feel for taller riders? I also have issues with the stock seat. My issue is that I'm rather tall for this bike (183 cm / 6 ft) and I have to sit too close to the steering wheel due to the curve near the passenger's seat being too close. I'd like to be able to comfortably sit a bit further from the steering wheel. Does Omega Rider seat solve that issue?
So this one: www.omegaracer.com/parts_store/kawasaki-w650-800-custom-seat-flatbench/ may be better for you than the comfort seat, the flat bench allowing you full use of the entire seat with no curve.
@@bigbluemotorbikedog , thanks! I was also considering the flat one. Too bad there don’t seem to be any decent reviews/videos for that model. But I guess I’ll take the chance. The only real problem is deciding between black and dark brown one :)
@@music_without_cats Personally I went with the diamond pattern as well, have an old tailbone injury that the tuck and roll tended to irritate. It results in a 'flatter' seat, which I think would help sitting wherever you want on it too. The comfort seat works super well for me and I can move around, but there is a passenger and rider area.
Kawasaki actually makes one themselves if you like the look and feel of the stock seat: www.kawasaki.com/en-us/shop/vehicle-accessories/motorcycle/ej800dnfnl/999941572/ergo-fit-reduced-reach-seat?cm_re=VDP-_-2022-W800:ACCESSORIESMERCH-_-BUCKET If you are looking for something custom however, I would check out Omega Racer and Texavina. The cafe racer seats seem to have a lot less padding, and therefore may be a much easier reach, but you're also looking for something narrow so you don't don't leg length accommodating a wide saddle. Hope that helps - thank you for commenting!
