The bike still cuts a fine profile even in today's high-tec rider modes and all the wizardry that new bikes give you.

A lovely example mate. It is good that I left the UK over 20 years ago because I used to pin my ZZR 1100 all the time. I would not survive there now with all your speed cameras etc. In regard to the handling, small changes can make a huge difference. I have matched front progressive springs and a rear shock set up for my riding style and the concentric adjusters rotated 180 degrees that totally transforms the turn in. With those mods it easily keeps up with most thing around the bends and leaves many others red faced when they realize it older than they are. I am lucky enough to own a ZZR 1100, ZX12R and a ZX14R. The 12 and 14 are of course faster but there is just something about riding the 1100 that "stirs the soul" and leaves me with a stupid grin on my face for ages afterwards. Any bike which can manage 180, like the ZZR, is by definition, very fast. Love your videos mate and keep on enjoying the ZZR.

I found the best way to pillion is to have one hand on the tank, and one hand on the rear rail. It’s so much better, when going fast. When going slower you can relax a bit. You’re right, straight line speed is brutal. Anything over 6000rpm is a bit pointless as it’s just too fast. If you want it to handle better, you can flip the chain adjuster 180. It changes the steering angle. The downside is, the rear wheel stays on the ground when it’s on the centre stand and high speed stability is marginally affected, but there’s little chance you’ll be going fast enough to notice. I love my ZZR, it’s my baby 😂

@@gdfggggg Thanks for watching and the advice, I knew about the chain adjusters but for how i ride nowadays 😜 I am happier to leave be and easier to oil the chain on the centre stand. It’s certainly been the love of my brother’s life.

Yours looks sweet. If my bike had the original exhausts I’d definitely look after them, but they’re very heavy, really heavy. I swapped mine to a set a Delkevich full system, carbon cans; they’re less than half the weight and aid the bike’s ability to turn quicker, although a fair bit louder. I’ve got bar risers as I found it a little bit heavy on the wrists. The risers make a difference. I have a touring screen but I’m quite broad shouldered and 6 foot tall and found I’m being battered by the wind. I bought a screen extender that bolts on to the top and it makes a world of difference at high speed. I get hardly any flies now on my visor and much less buffering (although it looks a bit shit 😂).
