Lake Hartwell: My old nemesis
I have a long, painful history with this particular lake. I had decided that this year I was not going to compete in any tournaments if it was calling for rain...well...because I don't like fishing in the rain. The forecast had indicated it was to rain all day which meant I would be sitting this one out. You can only imagine my disappointment on Friday when the rain prediction was removed for tourney day...

Man the struggle has been real! Great video as always. Normally at least you seem to get a bunch of bites just not land them. That day was tough. Especially with seeing the fish before you even got on the water. Loomed promising!

I wish I could blame my launch, but that wasn’t the case. All of the folks who went back in the coves where I was struggled, but the guys who turned the other way and went out to main lake did really well.

Lol oh my side that was one hell of a backlash at the end. Lol I've fished Hartwell alot for almost a year now. It's definitely full of fish and I'll just say you've allowed it to really get in your head. But I'll definitely try out that boat ramp you launch from to see if I can figure those fish out. You'll turn things around on that lake don't let the past cloud the future.

Always interesting when you finally see spots and exact docks you know on video. I find that Hartwell treats people one of two ways and you seem to have angered it. Not sure what you did in another life here, but the oil and vinegar. Noticed that underpin tied on and I am really surprised you were not finding at least little spots with that. On an cloudy day with a scattered shower or two, I can use that guy pretty much all day.

I don't know what it is about Hartwell, I want to love it, but I just end up frustrated. I think its that I have such high expectations going into the event and it just doesn't pan out.

My frustration is two-fold. 1). I suck at that place. 2). I don’t see anything special about it. It’s basically Lake Norman, but 2.5 hours away and not as good.

Well, hell.....I think I said some of the same words Thursday.....Good thing I wasn't recording my trip, would have no audio after editing out bad words. By looking at videos from others in that tournament you weren't alone in your frustration. Better luck next time!
