This is footage from day 1 of the month long, Yak Tribe tournament which is a multi-species fishing tournament. I was trolling with cut pieces of white bass. I had a great day of kayak catfishing. I don't care what you are fishing in sir...just fish. I watched you last year when I could. I love to see the water and here the ducks and geese. This is so much better than the damn desert. Slot fishing is tough...no doubt. As usual another great video. I’m sure many are watching hoping to learn technique.....how to...and so on for cat fishing....and you do a very good job of explaining what you are doing......me however I am looking for the other criteria of the video....entertainment.....and man it sure is entertaining! Rods going down all over the place....LOL. Keep up the good work.

Justin I watch your show every time it's on I have a question when you're in a slot tournament is it legal to count it if you snag it in the back of the tail or do you got to actually catch it in the mouth?

Kayak Catfish i know right I normally don't like fishing these but once in a great moon okay it like fishing in a wood barrel.. but can't argue with the first prize 5 tag fish in lake if u hit them all it's 5,000 dollers or 1,000 each tag fish ... I was thinking about doing a Santini rig with a skipjack or Shad you think I win

You are absolutely correct. It is way overkill on the hook size for the small fish I need for this tournament. For now, I’m hoping to luck into a few smalls while targeting bigger fish. If need be, I’ll take a day or two and downsize my hooks and baits to target smaller fish closer to the end of the tournament.

No. I still use the same Ugly Stiks I have had for years. I do have one new rod which is the one I won in last years tournament. It is a custom built rod.

Kayak Catfish I was just fishing so I could have a family fish fry. I got enough fish meat to have the fish fry and two fish dinners afterwards. I and I wouldn't really have a good chance in winning a tournament because I mostly go down to the lake on weekends. But this year I am going after catfish twice the size of 36 inches.
