Hi, in this video I launch and Fish at Lizard point with a friend. The fishing was not great but we got up close to more seals than you can shake a stick at and performed an unexpected rescue. #kayakfishinguk #kayakfishingcornwall #fishingcornwall #hobiecompassuk #fishingcornwall #thelizard

2 interesting facts, I laid the tarmac outside the shop/cafe at lizard point. Also fished there this Sunday (day you released this video) and caught nowt all day. Great videos as all local to my spots. Keep them coming. 👍

Thanks for tuning in Matt and commenting. We had a few wrasse off the shore and the lures followed by small bass after qenpacked the kayaks away. I may have mixed the tarmac you laid outside the shop!

Great vid again. Moving down to mullion in September. Can’t wait to get out on the kayak. So many great places to explore on the lizard

Seals have hammered the inshore pollack and wrasse stocks in the south west over the last 40 years. Far more so than commercial fishing. But that’s nature. When I was a kid growing up in Brixham you hardly ever saw a grey seal. Now they are everywhere. They are nice but….

@gaycha6589 Ive heard some commercial fisherman saying that the recent increase in tuna in the south west is putting pressure on fish stocks. I wouldnt know what impact they're having but i do know theyre big and hungry and there has a been a lot of them in the last few years. Probably eating a lot more than the seals.

@@kayak_fishing_Cornwall am ex trawler man. Tuna feed on shoaling pelagic fish like mackerel. They don’t feed inshore of reef species. Have good fishing. The bass and mackerel angling is now picking up in s Devon now sea temp has risen.

Ps. I caught my first ever sea trout last year off Berry Head when trolling for bass. Always a surprise even after 50 years at it. Tight lines and stay safe out there sir.

Hi I’ve been watching your channel and thoroughly enjoying it ! I’m a kayak fisher myself and I’m in Bodmin visiting a friend this weekend 12th to the 16th of July ! If you fancy meeting up for a fish let me know ! I would need an easy launch site as I have a Pro Angler 14 ! Cheers Mike

The bio-luminescent jellyfish are called ctenophores. I saw some whilst kayak fishing around the Manacles the other day. You can pick them up, they don't sting.
