Great videos. Your channel will grow. I like your commentary and advice without background music. Just sounds of nature.

Thanks for the positive words! Listening to the nature is one of my favorite parts of being out on the river.

Appreciate the video! I've been watching a lot of NDYak and it's nice to see others with a similar channel model. Only necessary commentary and straight fishing footage with nature. Also, it's refreshing to see the "disaster" moments on camera (i.e. musky biting your line, near flip), too. It happens and you had a hell of a day!

I'm glad you appreciate some videos on the channel! I don't take things too seriously and I think its a good thing to laugh at my own mishaps out on the river. There's usually no shortage. You know nothing ever goes 100% right out there...

Nice take on our area here in the upper Midwest! Nice top water action! Never lift a pike or musky with your line haha😂 live in the current!
@RivermanTV-
@RivermanTV- Год назад
Don't lift by the line especially when you see the line rubbing against teeth 😂 Scott and I also hit a new area of the upper Mississippi while I was up. It was all cool new water!

What part of the river? more southern? northern part of the river is narrower and has better structure and laydowns imo
@yakbrosmn7521

Nvm I saw the cabin towards the end of the video and the take out at the end. Id say next time try fishing more north of thayers landing.

That's where I wanted to hit it but my buddy thought it'd be too skinny for him up there.

how far can you cast on average with your dc
@RivermanTV-
@RivermanTV- Год назад
I've never measured so I can't really quantify it. I make longer casts with them than any of my other bait casters.

Why does your crankbait reel make such a winding sound when cast?
@RivermanTV-
@RivermanTV- Год назад
I'm rough on it 😉 But seriously, it's a Curado DC so it has tech in it that makes that noise when you cast.

@@RivermanTV- That's about a 10 mile strtch of river. Do you happen to recall about how many hours it took to fish your way down to Hwy 70 ?? Thanks
@RivermanTV-
@RivermanTV- 2 месяца назад
@@bobrich1950 we started an hour or so after sunrise and finished about 6-7pm I think. We stopped along the way and definitely took our time in some areas. It could be fished quicker for sure.

Sorry, but i've one more question. At the levels you floated this at, do you think paddling upstream would be feasible? And then floating back to the put-in? Trying to avoid a shuttle. Thanks for all your help.

Man, I fish smallies as well, so I was excited to see you fishing my state waters, but I gotta say I don't like the way you treat pike and muskie. You're scared of them and shouldn't be fishing in places where you know you're going to catch them if you can't handle the fish properly. Otherwise, nice vid.
@RivermanTV-
@RivermanTV- 2 месяца назад
I'm definitely not afraid of them. Most pike are not allowed in my kayak and I'm always careful to get musky back in as quickly as possible.
