Becca Keen Great video. Ive also kayaked Windermere it truly is a beautiful lake. But a couple of things to note. One is blue green algae that grows in the lake and is actually toxic if swallowedthe second one is a little known fact that locals will tell you when visiting Windermere. A lot of people make the same mistake you did and say Lake Windermere, what you are actually saying is Lake Winderlake because the word Mere which is the end of the word Windermere is actually old English for Lake
Great video. Loved the kayaks. Just a question can you just turn up anywhere on the lake windermere and enter the water with a kayak? Or do you have pay for water time?
Thank you, I’m glad that you liked the video. You can enter the water anywhere on lake Windermere (unless it’s private land). You don’t have to pay water time 😊
It took us around 5hr 15mins, however we did stop to film quite a lot along the way. I go into more detail in the video. I would recommend doing it, it was very enjoyable
