My parents took my brother and I to silver springs every year. My dad is 94 with alzheimers and we just watched this. My dad had such great stories. It was so nice to see him remember such treasured memories. He said the gators aren't so bad it was the water moccasins!!! Thanks!

Oh my! So funny. I reminisced to my Mom once about a resocca we lived by in Texas. "You were worried about the pink worms?" ( This was in the 50's and I was about 4.) She looked at me and said "It wasn't the worms I was worried about, it was the water moccasins!"

Thank you for taking us with you to Silver Springs. I still vividly remember an amazing glass bottom boat tour of the area when I was a child.The springs and wildlife are so beautiful. As an octogenarian in the state of Washington, I never thought I'd see this place again. Your tour delighted me.

I grew up in Florida, and lived most of my life there. My parents retired there about three miles from Silver Springs. I miss my home so much. I can’t wait to retire and go back. Just a few more years. ❤

You are a brave woman! Not even for a million dollars would I be paddling around crocodiles.🐊 Being in a small canoe in the same water where crocodiles breed seems like the worst horror scenario,ever 😱 Very nice nature area, but still a nightmare. 😰 Especially for me coming from Norway.

The anhingas, also called snake birds, are the large water birds with the pointed bills. The cormorants, also large water birds, have the hook on the end of their bills. They both dive for their food so their wings lack oil glands for better and deeper diving. Then the birds have to sun themselves with their wings outstretched in order to dry out. This should help you tell the difference between them, Kimberly! The kayaking looks like so much fun!!!

New subscriber here. I just turned 51, going through a high conflict divorce after 32 years with barely any support. ❤️‍🩹 I live in South Georgia. Growing up, my mother let me choose between Wild Waters and Silver Springs each summer. I chose Wild Waters. As an adult, 2 bucket list items I have are going to Silver Springs and to kayak both of which I’ve never done before. You’ve inspired me to try to do both there. ❤ I’m loving your channel. I have been living down here in Florida for about 12 years, and I love to kayak. I also respect the gators. This was their home long before it was ours. They truly are the last dinosaurs left roaming the earth. We have had a much longer winter this year so as soon as the sun comes out the alligators come out to sun themselves. I feel bad for the Manatees. They are so use to the warm water and when its cold you will see hundreds of them huddled together to stay warm. They are so gentle. My 6 year old granddaughter came for a visit and we took a ride on the gold cart and she was so excited to see her first gator. Later on in the day we took another ride and saw a few more. She was thrilled. I am glad you you were able to get out for a nice paddle today. Thank you for taking us with you.

Well that was fun! I went kayaking in gator waters too a few years back. I have to admit, I was not very relaxed. They were swimming in the water around me in a very narrow river way. Since I was on vacation, I decided that I would get out of the water, and look for something more relaxing to do. Whew! When you don't grow up around them, I guess it takes some time to get used to them:)

I went to that park years ago when it was more or less an amusement park. The glass bottom boat rides were great, except for the one time when their was a big gator on our tail and I was sitting at the back of the boat! Yeah wild monkies haha.

Hi Kimberly, I read your newsletter as I usually do, and just wanted to share a better ketchup option. We recently bought the one you linked but discovered it had sucralose. The Primal Kitchen ketchup is better and contains no sugar or sweeteners of any kind. I can’t understand why sugar is in everything! The tomatoes are naturally sweet enough , ketchup doesn’t need it! Thanks for all your shares!! I love kayaking!!
