There is a soapy element to me mixed with notes I enjoy. I just wish the gourmand was stronger in this.

Okayyyyy, mine came & I just smelled it. It’s been on my arm for about 5 mins. now & I truly do love it. It definitely has a fresh & powdery element to it, BUT on me once it dries down it is so warm & creamy which I really enjoy! I do picture myself buying the mid size of it once I get through this travel size. 🙌🏽💚

That initial description made me perk up because I love warm, spicy, sweet gourmand fragrances. Then you burst my balloon 🎈 Lol. I don't want to smell soapy! 🫢 I've been wearing Kayali Sugared Patchouli. I wish it had a little more patchouli fragrance to it. But I do like it. I've purchased the travel size 3 times, giving one as a gift.

Going to store is a safe bet with this one. I thought it was going to be a for sure thing for me. I liked Lovefest burning cherry, but still prefer Tom Ford Lost Cherry more.

I have been SO excited about this scent, I was actually wanting to purchase the pistachio perfume from le gourmande and then this was released so I didn't. Your review has made me totally second guess this and I think I want to smell it before buying and will probably buy the le gourmande one for $25.

Oh shoot! I was thinking the same as you that this would be a perfect gourmand scent. Mine isn’t going to be delivered until Tuesday next week, glad I only snagged the 10ml. I honestly thought that this one would be a creamy, sweet pistachio ice cream with a little spice from the rum in the background. Fresh/clean scents I am very specific on and only have a few in my collection because they aren’t a fave. Thanks for the super quick review Cheryl! ❤

I’m glad you posted this! My signature scent is Kayali 28, so I figured I’d love this one too. I’ll pass ❤ it’s funny you compared it to soap cause I actually tried a cashew milk that I felt was “soapy”. So I wonder if that’s coming from the pistachio.

Maybe that’s it! Not everyone gets the soapiness but my nose definitely picks it up and it cheapens the scent for me. Masks all the yumminess 😢

Hey girl hey.. Omg your review is spot on!! I was disappointed..wasn't what I expected. I have the 100 ml and will be returning it.. It's light and fresh.. and like u, I'm not into that. I like my fragrances.. Gourmand, sexy, beastly 😁And that is what I thought I was getting. Thankfully Sephora has a great return policy!

I thought it was going to be an automatic on my end too because of the notes, and the fact I won many kayali scents anyways (Vanilla 28, amber invite only, sweet diamond pink pepper, love fest burning cherry and Vanilla royale. Me tooooo! I queued your video the second I saw it on my nightly roundup mirrored to my TV and immediately went on sephora to see out of stock. Saw 3.5 stars and was like…🤔. Based on notes I thought if I made a fragrance, these would be the notes. Running warm, creamy, sweet, gourmand goodness. Most reviews said not what I was expecting && more fresh, clean, soapy. Whattt!? The bottle is a stunner though. Unfortunate. I may still get a travel size. Idk.

I got this a few weeks ago. I feel as though the fragrance has changed some and its a little more intense than when I first sprayed it. I get lots of the cotton candy and I get a pistachio ice cream smell/flavor.

@@MakeupByCherylYou should try letting it macerate! Just spray it around 6 times then leave it in a dark, cool drawer or cabinet that you don't open a lot, for a few weeks.

I went on sephora canada last nite to try and order it and it wasn't available, I'm glad now it wasn't. The notes sounds like something I would LOVE but I now see alot of reviews sayin the " clean smell". I just bought the new black opium this week and I was sadly disappointed in that 😔

Perfume is subjective though. I noticed from the reviews that some people smell straight up pistachio and others smell citrus and the two sides can’t smell what the other is getting. So it just depends on you and what notes you pick up. I can’t wait to try it.

The gourmand in this is too light for me. Still there, but masked by a cleanness I wasn’t expecting. Definitely still give it a smell if you can, but not for me. I’m left wanting much more. Always happy to help!

@MakeupByCheryl the first notes had me nodding my head, then you mentioned geranium, and I thought eccchhh. I love the smell of real geraniums, so I bought a geranium oil. STINKY!!! Nothing like the real flower. I'll stick with the rest of the Kayali I have.

OH NO! I was so excited for this one! I wanted it to be exactly the way Mona described it in her launch videos. I am starting to get gun-shy with kayali since her last release which was supposed to be Vanilla 28 on steroids but was NOT AT ALL. I hated it after buying a full size bottle. This sounded so perfect and the notes are perfect but obviously did not translate to smell anything like we thought.......again. No more blind buying for me LOL

Ughhhh. I'm so turned off by the hype of all the newest, lastest, greatest Kayali's and they almost always dissapoint. The giant frilly campaigns, the numbers of tries to perfection, the preorder waitlist excitement....blah blah blah. I can't get on board with Kayali or their prices for lackluster scents with low projection you have to layer almost everyone to make anything good out of them. I’m sensitive to soapy lol give it a try! People do like it. It’s just not my fave. Too light and not gourmand enough for my preferences.

What people dont understand is kayali is a MIDDLE EASTERN owned fragrance company. This fragrance is 100% a gourmand it smells like a middle eastern dessert. Theres a middle eastern dessert called lukum(Turkish delight) if u smell it it smells earthy citrusy floral and sweet its gelatin made w rose water saffron sugar pistachios and lemon zest and orange blossom water. Many persian desserts are floral and fresh smelling as well. this is not your typical western gourmand. This is a middle eastern gourmand. This pistachio in this fragrance is earthy and fresh it smells like the fresh ground pistachio that you would smell on a peace of baklava or inside a turkish delight.

Turkish delight is only one note in the many they listed. If that was the case, they should name it Turkish Delight NOT pistachio gelato. I was expecting pistachio gelato.

Wow! Smells like soap eh? I just bought it and I smell like a SNACK lol. This perfume is a mature fruity smell. I also like to read and watch reviews before buying a product but also try it yourself as everyone’s taste and smell of everything is different.
