The town of Mystic Falls has a new generation of protectors in this spin-off of "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals." The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted is home to Klaus Mikaelson's daughter Hope, Alaric Saltzman's twins Lizzie and Josie (Kaylee Bryant), and other young adults who are coming of age as witches, vampires and werewolves, nurtured to be their best selves and overcome their villainous impulses. Together, they rely on ancient folklore and tales to learn how to battle their far-reaching enemies and attempt to keep balance in the world.

k30german ghost kid I agree. I hated the ending to TO, too. But I’m not going into this show angry because of it. I’m trying to be more optimistic about it. I didn’t mind how the white oak stake popped up because to me, it makes sense that Klaus would have one. I just didn’t like that both him and Elijah died. It was a waste.

people hated the finale cause Julie tried to bait Klaroine fans, I hated Klaroline so whatever, she made suicide look like a romantic, cute option and when the actors that are in the show also hated the finale, well it says a hella lot. If you have a twitter account there is loads of info on there. Just search for it. I wish the actors all the best but Julie can burn, she ruined TVD, she ruined TO, she will ruin this show as well. Also chilling adventures of sabrina is gonna be so much better than this harry potter show, discovery of witches is also a dope show..

I really have to give props to the interviewer. It's been such a long time since I've seen such an engaging interview that didn't feel forced or cringey. Honestly the guy seemed engrossed in what Kaylee was saying and asked really interesting questions . I hope he gets to interview more cast members in the future.

As much as I would like to see it be more like TVD and TO, that's not what's happening. Honestly I like Legacies and everyone hating it and criticizing it because they are mad at TO's ending is absurd. Legacies isn't just another spin-off, it's also a show that anyone can watch with easter eggs from TVD and TO. They can't just reuse the same plot-lines and continuums from the preceding shows or it will just become monotonous and repetitive. This is a new era of TV and a new generation of people. And regardless it's still an enjoyable show to watch.

So far, I'm liking what I'm seeing on "Legacies." It both reinvents & reboots "The Vampire Diaries " franchise in a fun & exciting way that invites the casual viewer that may not have seen or heard of the first two installments to get on-board the franchise. In other words, you don't have to have knowledge of the first two shows to enjoy it. "Legacies" can serve as a great jumping on point for viewers who are completely new to the VD Universe. So far, it seems to be working as the first 4 episodes of "Legacies" have outperformed the last three seasons of "Originals" in viewership numbers & is also coming in slightly ahead of the new "Charmed" in viewing figures as well. It is also currently the 4th most watched show on the CW website & app. I don't know about you, but I would call that a surprise success. It not only proves that there is still an audience for this franchise, but that people were ready for the franchise to be taken in a different direction. Looking forward to your comments on this.

I have a lot of issues with the new show, this is why I most likely won't watch it. To start with I don't want to support Julie Plec anymore, don't get me wrong this was a great interview and I wish the actors well but Julie Plec is rinsing all this vampire stuff for all it is worth and I hated how The originals ended.

Why would they be? Carolines not their real mom, they're joes kids, which is why they're siphoner witches since alaricks a human. Plus they wouldn't have almost killed careoline in utero since they could have siphoned themselves. I guess it would have been possible if they died right after birth with carolines blood in them.

A lot of people can't (or at least shouldn't be able to) come back because a lot of the purgatory dimensions were destroyed and the shows have said once you go to the Bright World, you stay there. But Julie could always make a new rule.
