This is awesome. I dont find nothing wrong with the way its mixed. Kaz is hugely talented to be able to compose his own tracks and play drums excellent as well. Only a God given talent.

@@summertim9462 tell that to tony royster jr. everybody has various inherent abilities that enable them to pick up physical and/or mental tasks relatively easily, and from there they can be developed and honed with hard work and discipline. there are some levels you cannot _learn or practice_ your way to.

I know I'm seeing this 7 years later.This is how i like to see drums played. By the way, I'm a retired FOH engineer. I always say. If I can get the full rhythm section perfect, the rest is easy. (apart from singers)

+Lars Müller You're absolutely right. A boring, "puck" snare sound, way too quiet cymbals in the mix. Whoever did this hasn't had their best day.

kazroddrums Hey Kaz, I'm sorry, I was being a little insensitive. I did not know you were doing all your mixes yourself. You could try using your overheads as a more stable foundation for your sound. Place them in a way so that they do not only capture the cymbals, but you rather get a nice overview of the whole kit - care for the levelling of the tom volumes as well (though not so much as for the cymbals). Then gradually fade in the snare and kick mic until they add just enough girth so that snare and kick cut through the mix well enough - but not the other way around (fading in cymbals to a snare/kick mix often ends up sounding like this video here).

Lets be real here - as great as filtered crashes/chinas sound - they are meant to be stacked or close-mic'd. I can hardly hear his cymbals in this video- great drumming as it may be...

LoVe it! I wish he played mad but he produced so much keepin his composure . . pocket is tight . . but how do we hear the cymbals?! They sound dull . . studio quality sound to where you appreciate the technicalities of him as a drummer . . I’m becoming a fan . . He’s easy on the ears but has a lot to offer . . I just wana see him NOT go soft every once a while . . put some strength in his strokes . . Azzents are different from regular strokes for a reason . . every stroke kant B an azzents . . despite what your style is . . pero . . 🤦🏾‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️👍🏾
