I like to think that when you invite majima to karaoke he gets sad after singing about makoto and kiryu can tell that majima is feeling down so he sings this to try to cheer him up.
I feel like this song is a great representation of Majima and Kiryu. Both have been through a lot of horrible things, despite that they always come back, their stories are both quite literally a story of attaining pride from their despair
another thing is that they both treated it differently. majima denying it by creating the mad dog character and doing goofy stuff while kiryu accepts it and moves on
@@marksanpedro8973 Majima and Kiryu are a friendly rivalry. They are very good friends, and by that I mean VERY good friends, but they share a different kind of bond than Majima shares with Saejima/Kiryu shared with Nishiki.
Song is good inspiration for not giving up actually. Even if it's a rock fest of Majima yelling, it gets a good message across. Never give up, and find pride in everything.
the whole never give up message is nonsense there are many things in life that cant simple be done. I come from destroyed country so yeah i know what i am talking about, this is fantasy not reality. just give up and move on to another thing.
It's more generally though like... you don't give up on your life goals no matter how much you get knocked down, and that your failures will make you rise higher
This song is incomplete without Majima. When you're singing it alone as Kiryu it doesn't hit as hard hahaha Also, a hot take: this slaps harder than Judgement
Judgement is a song about not letting the (criminal) life change who you are, not saying yes to all of what they demand of you to please them, you will follow your own path wherever it leads even if it means going against the world Pride from despair is a song about being in the deep shithole, no money, full of debts, no way to repay them, not knowing what to do, having wasted a part of your life, being full of despair, and then, saying fuck it to it all and becoming the best of what you can be and what you can do despite what the world throws at you
I am playing Kiwami 2, and I was like "who in his sane mind would dare to challenge Kiryu and Majima after what they did in Yakuza 0, these two are geniuses of fights and business"
rev / レヴ niichan and neechan mean brother and sister but your translation is the right choice of words sometimes changing words is better to make it easier to understand the meaning
Thank you very much for the translation and the complete song! I've been looking for them them since the day the game is out (not so actively after the first two weeks though). Also thanks RU-vid for finally recommending something that I will definitely enjoy...
I already loved listening to this before understanding the lyrics but now it's one of my favourite songs ever. Thanks again for the hard work! It's super appreciated :D
I wonder if it's possible to hear that other guy singing this full song (or at least the last bit of it!).... _The one who sings it before you actually start the karaoke mini game._
It's been 6 months since i commented on this video and i still can't stop listening to this song It's just so catchy and really motivating It's my favorite song of all time at this point
This is beautiful... why don’t I have a PS4? I just realised that this is a representation of majima’s past he got his mind broken into pieces he got depressed but he accepted the madness within him and well he and became the Mad Dog of Shimano we know today
Nice as I did see the interesting parts on the tracklist like the full spec editions of Heartbreak Mermaid, Rouge of Love, Rain drops and others where I don't know if those songs were actually sung by Majima or he has his interjections on the full versions.
Hidenari Ugaki is in gintama in ep 26 season 1 "some things can't be cut with a sword". He's the announcer. plus character look just like the goro majima beside the patch
