How so. It is an iconic Tekken stage. The moonlit environment in the background when the dojo breaks is nice. Plus. i think it is mean more for 1v1 and combos. I like it than most stages.

The attack coming out of the crouching state is called a “while standing” move in Tekken. They’re usually intended as low attack punishers.

Remember guys, he's only that strong when you do not respect his moves. Just like his FGC counterpart he IS weak to blocking. Give or take maybe 3 months you guys will already know how to deal with his strings. His main problem stems from the fact that people HAVE to learn the matchup like Terry. Edit: If we talk about online, well good luck lmao. Everyone is cheesy online. Fix netcode

In Tekken yes he's weak to blocking but bro he's nothing like he is in Tekken tbh...he's the defensive Mishima in Tekken but that doesn't really work here in this game he has some really nice rushdown moves and offense it's a different game

Yeah, he's dumb if he gets his setplay off, but catch him with a shield or two and he eats *your* combo. His recovery is pretty wild, but if he wastes his double jump or is too far horizontally, he can't make it back so easily.

@@ripmxrcus Kazuya got dibs because he was the original main character. Even though sometimes that idea isn't followed, he was put into the game because he was the first main Mishima character. Jin only came in T3 if I believe. I can't falt them for picking Kazuya over Jin either. However, Lars does not deserve it, he isn't a main Mishima which the game is based around and technically isn't the original character either.

Tekken dude here, the backdash posture is almost 100% a reference to Korean backdashing in Tekken, where your character basically stays upright and wobbles backwards faster than normal backstepping could go. "While standing" is the Tekken terminology for using a move as you get up from a crouch, and the state of being doubled over holding your stomach is what we call being "crumpled". You KNOW you gotta get into some T7 man. Gigas is basically just red Donkey Kong.

lol the hard part is not the shoryuken motion. it's the just frame :,) even though Sakurai said the window is more lenient now. The small uppercut that Kazuya does if you don't hold is *actually* the better move in Tekken.

I personally think folks are overreacting a bit on him, then again I thought the same on minmin and sephiroth… Anyway…the issue i see is kazuya has a decent amount of punishable end lag on many moves, his ten hit combo also isn’t really a true “combo”, and you can break out and roll and punish. And despite having several shield killer mov, I still feel shielding might still be the best option against most his kit, you’ll get plenty of time to punish him for it.

nah Kazuya's jab is ridiculously op two full hits are death 90% for no reason And they ARE true if they're close enough like any jab. It's broken. Not to mention he has every move possible in game. Up smash extremely safe on shield and powerful. Not to mention Super armor. He just does way too much damage. Like a combo heavy Ganon. It's disgusting 😭

@@Huanchee before hit 2? Doubtful. Also he has a tripping move, stun move, super armour, great kill confirm, a standing spike, good projectile. Yes everyone says this about all the DLC. And I still would say Pyra is a Mickey take, but Seph, minim have good end lag on moves and reasonably punishable recovery. Maybe next year reasonable nerfs to dlc and buffs to OGs Or.... An extra move... Grab plus special does something new maybe?

@@maverickmic more than confident, in fact I just did so against the cpu kazuya who tried the 10 hit against me now and saved a replay. Effortlessly. I’ll upload it soon as i get a chance. You di in towards him while he’s doing it and you’ll fall right out during one of the hits. I did this as ganondorf as well, a heavy with a decent size hitbox. Yeah perhaps dk bowser or one of the other giant heavies might struggle to pop out, but virtually everyone else can di out of his 10-hit combo easily. The character might have some strong gimmicks, but his 10-hit ain’t one of them.

@@mitzi3262 yeah, but that's a smash attack. The 10 hit is an auto advancing string with no effort required. No direction, no charge, just one button. And it gives 40+ damage with an unblockable at the end.

Just allow for him to be free in training mode so you can lab, that's the best answer. It is annoying to have to buy a character just to learn how to defend against them, or hope someone out there has made counter-play with your character.

Personally I've been having a lot of fun with Kazuya. He feels relatively easy to use, but with a high skill ceiling. And the 10 hit ain't actually as amazing as people think: you can actually DI out of it, though it's still good. Devil Blaster is actually pretty good for dealing with projectile spammers too, though they still kick your ass pretty easy

I think he's proud in a way, but because of him killing Kaz mother and having to live with that pain, plus he knows by doing that he's created a monster within him he could never show the kind of love he really wants to towards Kazuya. Tekken 7 opens up a lot. Almost every Tekken made Heihachi look like the bad guy, but when you're betrayed by the one you love + ya bloodline is cursed, only thing left to gain is money and power.

Kazuya is also from a very bad game, however, try as he might, Sakurai simply cannot make him interesting. Smash is now a worse game for his existence.

Us Ryu/Ken players got screwed over... I played the level 9 Kazuya with them and he feels like a final boss! This dude got like a dozen moves as strong as my command Shoryuken combo and a few moves that stun as much as my fully charged counter move (that don't require charging up)... It's always the dlc characters 😓😓

No nerfs he’s fine the way he is if you have good reach or projectiles you can keep him away. Sakurai said he was weaker when they first tested him and he sucked and in tekken you can die fast so it makes sense him hitting you with these power moves doing big boi damage

I came up with a kind of good combo. It’s not very long, and the last part’s a bit hard to land, but it feels really good when you pull it off. Anyway, here it is: Down Smash -> Up Smash -> Side Smash -> Neutral Special Landing that Devil Blaster at the end is a bit tricky, but it is possible. And it’s even better if you hit the opponent with a final smash instead of Devil Blaster.

If you think he's complicated just by messing around with his moves, you should see just how many combos and moves he has. His moves list, is 4 pages long; 1 for his special moves, and 3 for the input combos.

That "free" GPS tip... that's pretty much the same story for every DLC in their day 1, most of the players fail so hard, I got lucky that I didn't lose too much and I was able to practice a lot with Kazuya (and even got into Elite in day 1, something I couldn't do with the rest of the DLC... aside from Terry. Joker and the Plant I don't count them in the list because I didn't have the game, nor a Switch to play the game yet).

The combo freedom this character gives you is insane. You can just do whatever combo is most comfortable, cool, or easy for you after you land a starter and it just works.

Wow. Excellent play with Kazuya. His stage, Mishima Dojo, is honestly my most favorite out of all of the stages that we currently have and I'm a thousand percent choosing it over the others I've chosen for Smash Mode and Tourney long before Kazuya even showed up. I wasn't all that hyped when Pyra/Mythra came out. I was like 'meh'. But when Kazuya came along, I was HYPED for him as well as his stage when I saw it in the presentation. Plus he looks like a REAL challenge for me, other than Yoshi, Ryu, Joker and Pokemon Trainer.

You really need to use Roundhouse to Triple Spin Kicks (what a name holy shit), AKA forward-up tilt Comes out hella fast, comboes off of anything, does 24 damage and kills at like 80 very consistently

Fun Fact: We Tekken fans don't care how you pronounce his name as long as it's not Kazyua. The Tekken announcers have always called him "Kazuya", but some narrators have called him "KazUya"
