You can't restructure contracts in the NBA. Only way to sort of do that would be if a player is heading into their player option year, they could opt out of their player option & re-sign for less. But none of these guys are close to the end of their contracts. They're stuck unless if they trade one of them.

And if you trade him, its lottery time... So you better hope the picks you get back are great since you don't have your picks left. And realistically the picks won't be good, because terrible teams aren't going to trade a pick for an old KD. Its going to be late pick they get back. Worst case scenario is to lose KD, get a great draft position just for that pick to go elsewhere. You don't want to be bad when you don't have your pick, ask the Nets how that worked out for them... They built the Celtics core by sucking when BOS had their picks.
