Huge fan of KDK and it was a 70s ADK-40 that started my fan obsession. That base is the same as the South African only Capil Aire brand. KDK was very popular in SA, the Middle East, Asia and Japan/Australia. Matsushita is the parent company of KDK, National and Panasonic (also Technics and Panasonic audio) and are excellent fans across the board. They were sold under quite a few brands as well in the States. The Full Oscillation is the 5-position oscillating position. That fan of yours is definitely 80s. Great video!
The brand dates back to the early 1900s but these were made by the Matsushita, which also makes the Panasonic. Excellent fans right up there with the Sanyo and perhaps better performance-wise, but sadly the motor might be riveted which ruins everything.
Panasonic had a range of ‘Panacool’ 12” fans in the 70s that sensed via resistance to touch on the grille and stopped the fan moving for safety. These motors do gum up but run so well after a good service.
Can’t wait to see you get it all fixed up and I like the royal blue blades on it it looks it can be from the early 70s like an 1972 or 73 but that’s rare it’s made in the USA I enjoyed the video bro
KDK is a Japanese brand similar to Sanyo and Panasonic. So even the ones that aren't made in the USA, which are the Made in Japan ones are really good. Some of the best fans in my opinion.
Imo GE from the USA and Hitachi from Japan beats KDK/National,Hitachi is also a much bigger company than National/KDK as Hitachi builds big machinery and GE makes jet engines
