Several national real estate corporations have been buying hundreds of single-family homes in the Pittsburgh region, turning them into rentals. While some are hopeful this might rejuvenate neighborhoods, others see a danger in out-of-state ownership, including rising rents, evictions and poor maintenance; KDKA's Andy Sheehan reports.

That's because the God damn Govt is asleep here in Pittsburgh!!! Should be illegal for them to call us or mail us about selling our properties... I get a call each week and letter every month asking me if I want to sell !!!they are not helping no neighborhood !!! They are leaching off of poor people !!!

All repairs or renovations need to be done correctly and completely especially a roof !

You should be grateful that they invest in your area and make renovations. They are investing in your area. Of course they need to get paid by raising rents. Renovation is not for free.
