Wow!! Hope not to many tried what they learned from this video. Watching it not completely but parts. They broke the kips actuator by not turning the nut on the top of the shaft on the right side of cylinder. It is a left handed thread and you must hold the shaft from turning when tightening or loosening that nut. Number 2 is the piston is in backwards.

This was their first time taking the bike apart. It was bought blow up already so there was nothing to lose. Sometimes you have to learn by experience.

the old piston was in backwards so were the rings , hope you noticed this upon rebuilding ,

Pump? Rings not touching, they rotate? How much do you know about engines? Laughing at you guys, hint, remember to set that ring gap, they're not supposed to touch!

It was the first time we took apart a top end, we know a lot more since then, but if you watch some of the new videos you will see those bikes up and running. :)

I think the piston is reversed? Exhaust side must be in reed side?

Is that exhaust valve you’re trying to pull off on the right side of top end? I can’t get mine off and I have to to get the top end off? It’s connecting top to bottom end. How tf do you get it off?

After you pull the cover off there is a bolt on top of the shaft connecting the linkage between the top and bottom end. You need to support the out side of the linkage to not put strain on it when you take off the nut. Their are other you tube videos and forums that better show this. Hope this helps.

excellent video, I have a kdx 200 year 1995, could you tell me the gas pressure of the rear shock absorber

150 psi of nitrogen, you can bleed the shock with 20 or so psi and then when it is bled just fill it with N2.

What year KDX is this?

Its a 96 frame with a 2006 engine, pretty much stock but has some small upgrades here and there. Full fmf exhaust, the usual upgrades.
