SM bought the song from Kesha for Girls' Generation to perform, and Kesha agreed on it, since SM paid a big amount on it. Stop accusing Girls' Generation for plagarizing her song. Ask Kesha herself, or ask Girls' Generation. They'll tell you that nobody plagarized, but instead they bought the song. Chill. We know Kesha wrote the song, but Girls' Generation bought it. Atleast GG paid for it, and explained to the media that they bought it and credited it to Kesha, unlike some artists out there.

The song is most certainly not a masterpiece. I've only really listened to the first verse, but it left a lot to be desired. Even if the rest of the song is doubtfully flawless, it won't be a masterpiece.
I actually have to thank Kesha (one of my favorite singers) for selling this song to SMTown which made me discover SNSD, now one of my favorite bands. So thank you. Both versions are amazing.
There was so much drama bc Kesha fans saying sm plagiarized, then sm fans said Kesha plagiarized. Run devil run was originally going to be in Keshas album but sm heard it and paid kesha a lot of money. Therefore, kesha sold all her rights to the song and gave it to snsd

This song has been released for about 4 years already. If you like this version then don't comment on Ke$ha's version about how you like SNSD's better. If you like Ke$ha's then dont comment on here about how you like Ke$ha's version. If you don't like it, then go watch a different video. It's really not that hard.

This song was when I realized that Kesha is actually a talented singer without AutoTune, and she only makes super trashy pop music and auto tunes her voice because she knows that's what sells. Fucking genius.
DashFan686 It was apparently recorded as a DEMO, which means she didn't turn it down but moreso, one of the writers of the song probably approached her to sing it for them either for pay or for favor, so they could pitch it and sell it to other labels or in this case, SM Entertainment. Happens all the time.

I atcually never knew that Ke$ha made this song first and GG did a Korean vers. of it. Personally I like both versions, but I think that if I knew Korean and knew what the GG lyrics meant, then maybe I'd be able to properly compare songs.

Maybe the reason why you guys keep saying that snsd's version is better is because you heard it first. This song is originally written in English by those three western people and chose kesha to sing the song because they find kesha's voice fit in. On the other side.. SM entertainment bought the rights and then there a Korean songwriter collaborated with the 3 original songwriters and translated it in Korean. Now.. The song is owned by snsd. But kesha sang it first.

They sound just the same. It's just that the lyrics on Kesha's version of the song is a li'l bit darker compared to the Korean(SNSD) version. I like both versions but I like this more because it's darker and I can understand it.

Kesha only sang the demo she did not own it, it was not her decision to give smtown the song.The song was never supposed to be released but it got leaked that's why it is not on any of her album's
This version sounds really nice, love that GG bought the song and that Kesha gave it to them, if not I would have never found out about the group. 💜 Love to both parties.
Truthfully, I'd say 소녀시대's version was better, HOWEVER, I still like this one. It's not really much of a difference, although GG's sounded like it was an octave higher.
I genuinely like both Kesha and Girls Generation's versions of the song. No plagiarism happened Kesha sold the song to SM and it was all fair and legal. Both versions are good so if you've only heard this one I'd reccommend you check out the Korean version. Also check out the amazing members of Girls Generation too~ (Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona and Seohyun)
People keep crediting Kesha for writing the song but everywhere I look her name is not listed as one of the 3 writers. She didn't write the song, people, she sang the demo for Girls Generation. I do agree, that she did really good on the demo, though.

SM Entertainment bought the song by Kesha , then was given to Girls Generation (SNSD). SNSD CHANGED most of the lyrics but kept some of the origanial lyrics.
I like both versions regardless, i'm both a Ke$ha and a Girls Generation fan so for me its juts nice to have it in two separate languages. Just more to love with the song, idc what anyone says I love both! good job Ke$ha and good job Girls Generation!

This was originally Kesha's song that was never released here in the US, but then someone leaked it and then Kesha made the decision that she did not want the song anymore. Later on SM bought the song and it soon became SNSD's. There, is it less confusing now? And to stop the hate?
It's called Demoing, Where they have someone sing a song to see how it sounds, a lot of famous singers started by doing demo work. Someone will demo a song then it is passed to the actual artist.
