Keegan O'Toole of Missouri is a two-time NCAA champion with an 8-2 win over 2021 NCAA champion David Carr. Subscribe to the NCAA Championship RU-vid channel: ru-vid.com...
Jordan Burroughs is so much better analytically than the other commentators. His insight is so much more advanced.. His points mentioned are excellent..
The wild thing is that many of these D1 wrestlers even can do well in international competition worlds panam etc ncaa D1 wrestling is no cakewalk for sure.
All the early international competition has helped US wrestling. Fantastic athletes, great performances, better scoring, all has rebuilt this sport. Great to see hard competition and sportsmanship.
Thats why the regular season doesnt mean shit! What a tournament Lee, Carr, RBY and so many more upsets! One of the best tournaments I've seen in a long time
@@jordanbabcock9349 yeah Carr and O’Toole are both really dominate but are pretty even with each other. Both insanely good and also both are good guys. O’Toole just was better when it mattered most and I’m a big Iowa State fan but I have a ton of respect for O’Toole. Great guy
No…this is why we have the tournament. The regular season absolutely matters but it’s hardly the entire picture. The meaning isn’t negated because the 1 seed doesn’t take the title every single time.
0-2 vs Carr during the season, his ONLY 2 LOSSES ALL SEASON and came back in the NCAA FINALS to avenge his losses and win the national championship. Oh not to mention the kid he beat is also a former NCAA champion.
@@michaelhayes6209Keegan knew if he was on the top side he would’ve had the gauntlet so he lost twice to Carr to make sure he was the 2 seed, and Carr came in 3rd last year
Ah Whatever dude. You obviously didn't watch the match very well. O'toole took how many shots? He stalled when he needed to do it, with no calls. The refs gave them both too much respect by not calling things that were easily seen but they wanted to be careful and ended up punishing Carr. A cradle shows control, then O'toole popped his head out. He nearly twisted O'toole's knee off without even a mention of potentially dangerous. He could've gotten hurt and ended the match.. This match was very closely contested and nothing about either of them looked average. You should have borrowed Spencer Lee's mom's glasses before she wrangled them In A fit of rage..😂😂
Can’t be said enough the level of respect from both athletes. Class acts both of them. Congrats to both of them. At the end of the day though I came to say MIZ.
Not only are these two class acts and outstanding wrestlers, it should be noted that Quincy Monday went to consolation round, after a close loss to Carr in the semis, and took the 3rd place medal. No forfeit.
So many great matches every year at this tournament. The NCAAs will never let a wrestling fan down. Its not possible like in other sports. If the best two guys in a weight class lose in the semi finals, the finals match will still be a banger! The dreams these guys live on the mat is like nothing else
In my opinion, what makes this win so great is the mental toughness Keegan O'Toole displayed during this match. Keegan stated that he once lacked a lot of confidence, which was costing him tough matches. To see him overcome that in such a badass way is awesome. In my opinion, Keegan O'toole is Wisconsin's best wrestler.
o’toole is so good but i must say i feel like he’s jumped level in 2024 because he has beaten guys a weight up and guys who we thought were gonna be contenders keagan has showed that he’s the man at this weight
I’m a little late but he bumped up like once. And it was against Edmond Ruth. Who took 7th at 174. While still impressive, Keegan is a big 165 pounder. Like Carr they run the weight class.
Great match, this is what sportsmanship is all about. KO wrestled close to the perfect match against a guy who already had beat him 2x! In most cases you would have thought DC would come out the winner again. Nope, KO looked hungry and like he wanted this, Title. He had the eye of the Tiger, lol.
Even though Carr had tougher way through to the championship like Burroughs said. O’toole still wrestled an all American in Carson kharchla in the quarters and all American Cameron amine in semis so he also had tough side to the championship.
Keegan O'Toole looked like he was giving WRESTLING LESSONS in both of his NCAA Championship Finals (2022 with Shane Griffith & 2023 with David Carr). David Carr's Muhammad Ali shuffle in the first few seconds of the match may have been David's way of saying, I'VE ALREADY DEFEATED THIS CHUMP TWICE. Signed OverConfident. That's how I interpreted it. After the match both wrestlers were gracious.
@@yourdaddy6030 they definitely did I guess because I like their style of wrestling and I was kind of rooting for them nothing personal I think Keegan O'Toole and Vito ... This is a crazy year Vito is coming in as the 3rd or 4th seed after he ran through Dayton fix an RBY then won a spot on the world team... Keegan is thm wizard man he's amazing
The foot shuffle at the beginning was not showboating...just because YOU people can't do it doesn't make it showboating...shout out to otoole he def showed up in the finals
You act like it's the hardest thing in the world 💀. Anyone in shape could do it, maybe even people outta shape if they just practice it for a bit. He had no reason to do it at the beginning, so obviously people are gonna think he is show boating
@@Rizzantor30000 I'm pretty sure anyone can move like that, it's not like he is doing a flip or anything crazy. You acting like it's one of the hardest things in the world 💀. But Carr had no reason to do it in the first place so people are gonna obviously think it's show boating
Champions dance at the end not the beginning. Looks like an overconfident wrestler who got his ass handed to him. Never saw his dad do that but then again he was a champion.
Otoole like Jordan Burroughs said only wrestled guys not on the high caliber level on the way to the finals. I say it was planned that way by the seeding committee.
Wow this is a dumb comment. I’m sure they made sure Ramos and Lee met up in the semis because they new Ramos was gonna pin him. There isn’t an easy path to the finals in this tournament
Carr can showboat like that since he was wrestling a bum like me... oh, no, wait... it turns out he was wrestling Keegan O'Toole in March. Not the brightest game plan.
@ryan80166 Kinda odd to flex at your opponent immediately at the start of the match lol. If it goes wrong... actually when it goes wrong, you look worse in defeat.
Carr sealed his fate with that stupid little dance at the beginning. Bet his dad thought it was cute. Save that crap for football and the women's soccer team.
@@deanwelsh68 sorry I disagree, look at all his previous matches, all the ones he won….. he gets cocky. Cocky wrestlers don’t become champions. And it showed on March 18th. Stop trying to be the innocent one
