I must admit that this is one of the more unorthodox demo commissions I've had over my fifteen years or so on RU-vid. The guys at Keeley told me they're involved somehow in a forthcoming Beach Boys / Pet Sounds documentary and they've created a couple of pedals to be part of it. They're even allowed to use the Beach Boys logo and song titles for the pedals. What the..? How can I refuse? I didn't refuse, of course - I was honoured to be asked! But there was precious little time between receiving the goods and getting this demo made in time for this morning's deadline. So I've skirted all Beach Boys tunes (probably a blessing as I'm not totally au fait with them anyway) and gone straight to each pedal's respective charms - and there are many! We've got the 'California Girls' which is a killer double-track/12 string/chorus pedal in glorious stereo and the 'I Get Around' Rotary Simulator, also in wide stereo (or mono) with all of the features you could possibly hope for in a (top) quality rotary sim. Both pedals can be operated in true or buffered bypass and both have looks and builds that are a next level. And the sounds? Whoa. Killer. Pet Sounds.

Love Robert Keeley's stuff. The guy is an absolute legend. That's probably the most accurate rotary speaker simulation I've heard. It has all the tone, nuance, slight randomness, and the actual crossover of a spinning tweeter and driver that occurs in an actual rotary speaker. However, that "12 string simulator" is just about the worst sounding 12 string simulator I've heard. It sounds like an octaver that follows each string very accurately, but it sounds absolutely nothing like a 12 string guitar. It noticeably sounds like a synthesizer. I get that the sound is a reference to the Beach Boys effects tone, and it is accurate to that tone. Maybe it needs a different name, "12 String Synthulator" perhaps, because it certainly doesn't deliver on the name's promise. Edit to add: Robert responded and noted he was tasked with making a "12 string simulator" as a part of the Beach Boys deal, and that it is incredibly hard to do.

Nice job demoing these pedals; they sound incredible. Still using a Keeley green phaser, that has an adjustable ramping function. Cheers.

I bought it to replace two maestro ps1a phasers I was using (with the footswitches). I loved the sound of them but they‘re massive. When I found the green phaser was a six stage OTA with a ramp like the ps1a, I was beside myself with excitement.

The rotary sounds really good. Wish I could say the same for the 12-string simulator. It does a pretty decent chorus, but sounding like a 12-string? Sorry, nope. If I need a 12-string sound I’ll play my 12-string.

The rotary sounds great. The 12 string not so much. The Digitech Mosaic does a much, much better 12 string emulation.

Rotary sounds pretty good, the distortion doesn't sound like a leslie though. It's missing the horn part I think, so maybe it emulates the old Fender unit. The 12 string thing sounds like a shimmer verb algo and not a 12 string.
