When I was a kid we had just one Asian lad in our village. One day I saw him repairing his bike and got talking and we became best friends. His mum was a total angel, Mrs Navanetharajah, and she’d always feed us especially when we’d been BMX-ing all day - some of the best days of my life. She always cooked this exact dish, I can still taste it, it was delicious and so different to the food I got at home in the early 80s. I’ve always wanted to find the recipe for this, they moved to Canada when we both went to Uni and I lost touch. Never seen a restaurant sell this dish, so I’ll make it myself and think of my best mate and his kind Mum who treated me like her own Son and fed me up at every opportunity.
Oh wow...Latif's new videos always make me happy....I love this dude...such a genuine and good hearted man. Latif....I'd love to see traditional Pakistani food being made in Pakistan....Bangladesh of course...and maybe the Himalayan foothills....regardless of nationality. For me...Pakistan is an unknown entity...I'm sure there are delights on offer that would be appreciated by foodies the world over....
Mate most of this food is pakistani, they call em indian restaurants because thats what the british can relate with otherwise especially up north 90% are run by pakistani altho bro latif is bangladeshi
I can’t count how many of your dishes I’ve made but never had a bad one. As a Brit living in the US, your dishes bring me home. Thank you for everything.
You are so natural and so humble...i always watch your videos because its authentically Indian... may allah bless u and ur family...from a south african hindu ❤
Latif, my mum has passed and she was the best cook out of all my aunts. I never got her to teach me how to cook. But you’ve done that, so well taught. You’re a beautiful man
Your earlier "Keema with peas" is one of my all-time favourites, although I always added one or two more tomatoes than the instructions, as I liked a little more sauce. Sounds like this new variant will be right up my street! Would love to see you Mum featured in future videos - she obviously taught you well. Thanks as always for your wonderful channel.
I live in the U.S and lamb is hard to find but I'm trying to find more recipes with all forms of making lamb. These videos help thanks keep them coming.
Wow what a great recipe! I remember turning up to my local curry house early and the staff were eating this and invited me in to eat with them I love this dish.
When I was a little girl in the 1950’s my mom made keema for me,and for herself,my dad was one of those English men who refused to eat anything he deemed not British, well it started my love of Asian food.I moved to the US when I grew up,and 29 years ago I moved to an area of New York, that has become the largest Bangladeshi community in Queens, there are so many takeout places, for the Bangladeshi ,not for Americans, though I do see Afro-Americans enjoying the food.I have never seen keema,in the takeouts, and my friends never give me keema,it’s always fish, beef, goat, and chicken roast. So I will make this for myself, and thank you.Malaysia would be good, and Thailand,2 of my favourites, after Indian.
Brother Latif, I have tried for years to get keema right. I cooked it today using your recipe, and I have to say, this is as close to perfect as it can get. It reminds me of when my mum used to make it when she was alive. Thank you very much for sharing this recipe. Your Tandoori chicken recipe is also the best one I have cooked. It goes down really, really well with my family and friends. Once again, thank you very much! 🙏
I love your home style recipes…I like hearing about the food your mom made and which dishes you liked best! Those usually translate into the kinds of food everyone loves!
Hi absolutely amazing dish ! My cooking has come on leaps and bounds since watching your videos for over a year now ! So thank you , keep up the good work look forward to seeing you soon
I made this dish when you posted the video of your mom's keema some time back ....i added the peas and potatoes .....it was amazing ...i also used some of it to fill samosas...the family and work mates loved them ......keep up the great work
I have tried several of your recipes over the last year or so and loved them all, your earlier keema recipe is one of my favourites, i will be trying this one for sure ...thank you.
Ever since i came across your videos i have always loved them. Can’t wait to see you on your travels. Yes please show us your mom cook this dish. May Allah bless you always.
Thanks to RU-vid I, a recently retired guy, started cooking only a few years ago, and You have taught me curries! Your Basic Chicken Curry has become a favourite, made in a larger batch to go in the freezer. Just a few days ago I made your vegetarian Curry Aloo Gobi. Many thanks for your efforts!
This looks like a great beginner recipe and i can whip it up on a weeknight! Would love more weeknight-friendly recipes, Im so tired after work but it’s worth it to make something so delicious and comforting!
I'm really happy I just found your channel...though both were English, my Mum was brought up in India, & my Dad was in the Indian army, we grew up having a lot of curries, my Dad used to make wonderful Indian pickles in giant jars in the garage too...which exploded on a couple of occasions... ..though I do make curries, I'd forgotten about this one, my Mum made a very similar recipe.. I'm going to try this at the weekend...trouble is, I'm watching this at 2am & now I'm really hungry! Look forward to watching your other videos!
Just made my best curry yet following your instructions, amazing, best instruction on 'Indian' food, Bangladesh/Pakistan, just keep showing us how its done, Top Banana !!!
Love your recipe videos, they’re a staple of our Saturday night cooking! Would love to see how your mum cooks this, I’m sure it would be awesome 👍🏻 Cheers
Love, love your Keema video. Greetings from a half-Pakistani in Singapore. I think food anywhere is great especially when home-cooked and from the heart. Mummies' hearts are the best. Thank you, please keep going. Definitely look forward to 'meeting' your Mum as she shares her valuable cooking lessons.
I don't even watch your videos before saving into my "cooking" playlist anymore, I automatically save them because I know the recipes will be amazing.. and then watch it after 😁 Thank you Latif for all your recipes and making them accessible to us all! Much appreciated! 😊❤ We went to Malaysia last summer, it was great! Lots of tasty foods, extensive halal options everywhere, and the 'Malaysian Hospitality' slogan is truly as they say it is, everyone is nice and welcoming, helpful, and really enjoyed our trip. Would definitely go back! You'll love it there 🙂 Make sure you try the Ramly burger from the food trucks/stalls in Kuala Lumpur, definitely the best burger I've had in my life lol 😂
