This was the final song played at my husband’s memorial service. He passed from Esophageal Cancer. Today, March 23, is the third anniversary of his passing.
This song makes me think of family members I've lost. A very special Dr.Eddie. my special husband who passed Sept 2021. He was my everything ❤️ my rock for 50yrs 9 months. You know Megan, I’m sure you will read negative or concerning comments at times - just like musicians do. But, most of us are normal people - trying to make the world a little less harsh. I am a therapist who works with patient’s who suffer with severe depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. Your RU-vids make my day better, as I try to make other’s days better. I've added this for my funeral. Cancer sucks but we've got to play the hand we're dealt. I don't have the same cancer as zevon had, but it's just as bad.

I did the same to my funeral playlist here on RU-vid. Life passes so quickly. I beat Cancer once I pray I'll beat it again. I've still got the fight in me and songs in my heart.

My best friend just lost her dad a few weeks ago, she was there for me 6 years ago only a day shy of when I lost my own father. I know her heart is breaking now and she sent me this link to hear the words of this song. I know the pain never goes away when you lose someone, especially your dad. I love you Jenny Jenny !! It's so hard to lose those we love. Just know that the other side is better. I've been there and sent back to finish my work and contracts here. Love never dies, and you know this, or you wouldn't feel the sacred pain you feel at their loss. ❤
I miss Zevon. What a touching goodbye song. I always remember him talking about his fear of doctors on the Letterman show. He refused to go to doctors and would only talk to his dentist. He became short of breath and would only hire fellow musicians who would tell him all of his medical worries were caused by anxiety. His dentist finally told him he had to see a physician. He was diagnosed with lung cancer. He said something to the effect that avoiding doctors all his life was not one of the best calculated decisions he had made. He still had a good sense of humor - and wrote this song. RIP Warren Zevon.
