Yellen and Powell have both kept the economy stable through some very big challenges. They were both elevated to positions of power by Barack Obama. And yet, people give Trump credit for an economy he kept on autopilot until the pandemic destabilized it. The truth is that the Obama/Biden administration was one of the greatest in history in terms of economic legacy and stability, and Trump just slapped his name on it like he does with everything.

This is one of many reasons why we can't let Donald return to the White House: by the time we start feeling the effects of these rate cuts, he'll try to take full credit for it and people will foolishly believe him. We gotta make sure that doesn't happen!

Trump’s average was 2%. Now it’s 2.6 and dropping after a post covid high of 9%. Trump was lucky he inherited a booming Obama economy then left Biden with a disaster.

As expected, the FED caved to the markets and cut interest rates by 50 basis points. Not only will this round of rate cuts not stop a cooling economy from entering a recession, but it will also turn up the heat on inflation, making the recession that much worse. Buy gold now. Not only did the FED’s 50 basis point rate cut send gold to a record high above $2,595, but it also sent the U.S. dollar sinking below 0.84 Swiss francs, a new 13-year low. What should be even more troubling is that long-term Treasury yields rose. It’s game over for the Fed. - Peter Schiff
